An Eagle's Cry
by Kimber Giedd
Alone, high above, an eagle soars
Flying off to it's distant shores?
Above it circles around and around.
Free from all that is on the ground
Calling with a majestic might
But in the sound is no delight
High and free they fly above
But in their hearts there is no love
Alone the eagle will always fly
But stop and listen to his cry
Strong and powerful without fears
But could the raindrops be his tears?
Turtle doves flying two by two
For the eagle it will not do
For love to them is falling fast
And if they live it will not last
I, the eagle, flying so high
Would still my wings with just a sigh
To stay forever on the ground
If there my dream was to be found.
