Above Parker: Chapter one

'You mean that we have a record deal?' Angela said, excitedly standing up from her chair. I grinned, and brushed my medium length blonde hair out of my face.

My band, Above Parker, had just been signed by Universal Records. We had been together for three years. The band consisted of 4 members, myself- Heather, I played bass, Angela, the drummer, Lori, lead guitar, and Diane, the other guitarist.

I had medium length blonde hair, and blue eyes, I was about 5'6. Angela, had fuzzy red hair and hazel eyes, she was tall, around 6'1, and she could easily pass off as a model. Lori had black hair and brown eyes, she was the shortest of the band at 5'2, and Diane was a brunette, with stunning green eyes who was taller than me by an inch.

'Thank you Mr. Durden,' I said shaking the young executives hand. 'I think a celebration is in order. You have my number if you need to reach us.'

'Of course, and I plan to be speaking to you girls very soon,' he said with a smile, as I ushered my band mates out of the door.

'Oh my GOD!' yelled Lori as soon as we were out of the office. 'We're going to make a real record, and make real money, and have our songs on the radio, and television!'

'I think this calls for a group hug,' said Diane calmly, placing her arms around myself and Angela. We hugged for a few minutes, before the secretary asked us to leave the building.

'Let's go to a pub,' I suggested, as we were walking down the street. We stopped in at a near by pub, and we drank a lot, before the bar tender told us we were being a nuisance and kicked us out around 1:30 am.

I was wakened the next morning by the ringing of the telephone in the kitchen.

'Someone pick up the phone,' I said covering my head with a pillow. I had a terrible headache. When the phone kept ringing, I angrily tossed off my duvet and went into the kitchen.

'Hello?' I asked into the receiver, rummaging through the cupboards for a bottle of Tylenol.

'Hello, this is Tyler Durden from Universal Records. Is this Heather?'

'Yes, it is. What can I do for you this morning Tyler?'

'Well, I just called to ask how you and the girls would feel doing a tour before recording the album.'

'A tour?'

'Yes. Well technically you'd be an opening act for another band, but I think that it would be great exposure.'

'Well, I'd love to, and I'm sure that the other girls would be absolutely delighted as well. But, may I ask, who would we be opening up for?'

'Just a little band called Busted. It would be a 3 month tour.'

'Busted?' I had heard of that band before. They were huge here. I found a few of there songs catchy, and not to mention they were all pretty fit. 'Tyler, can I call you back, after I've talked to the girls?'

'Sure, but make sure it's quick, we leave for the first destination in a week.'

'Ok, bye,' I said, and then hung up the phone.

This tour would be huge. Thousands of fans at every venue. Amazing exposure. We would definitely have to do this tour.
