this article is originally in Mandarin. Due to the length of the article and my inability to get a chinese software, i had summarised and translated the article.

Lee Hom once said that if he had the money, he would like to open a music school. Please don't dismiss this as a joke or a dream, this is his ambition.

Lee Hom has been dreaming of being a musician when he was young. He often fanatized the scenario of performing on stage. Therefore when his brother first played the violin in front of him, he was so excited that he too picked up the instrument without hesitating.

However, learning the violin wasn't Lee Hom's real dream. He wanted to be rockstar performing on the bright-lit stage. Sadly, due to his strict upbringing and his brother's excellent grades in school, his parents wanted Lee Hom to be the same, hence short-cutting his dreams.

"My parents are very strict and my brother's grades were very good, he was so good that he often borke the school's record and got a congratulatory letter from President Bush! That was the one thing my family was really proud of. Thus my parents would always compare me with him. The weird thing is that no matter how hard i study, i can never do better, execpt playing the violin."

Recalling this, LeeHom let out a sign. "I remembered i was very headstrong, everytime my brother was praised, i wished that i could be as smart as him or even smarter. but this only led me to be more stressed because it was very difficult." Even though Lee Hom knew that he could not outshine his brother in studieswise, he did not give up. When his brother chose to study medicine in varsity, he did the same.

"My heart was in music then but whenever i brought up this topic, my family would object, thus i felt sad without any goals. Therefore since my brother chose medicine, so should i, hence abiding my parents' wishes."

In vasity, Lee Hom's passion for music never diminished. He often joined a group of music-loving friends and jammed at a pub. He even recorded down the jamming session. Little did he know that this video tape led him to his dreams. Under the encouragement of his uncle and guidance of famous producer, Lee Hom recorded his first album "Beethoven". This album sold remarkably well. With this results, Lee Hom finally managed to persuade his mother and successfully switched to music college in his second year. Till today, whenever he thinks of the past, he felt a bit regretful that he did not stand firm in his wanting to learn music.

Four years of college life went by in a flash. Looking at Lee Hom's grades, they were moderate but to this music-loving, ambition-driven Lee Hom, it was a pity. However, he felt differently, "I promised myself that whatever my outcome in the enterainment scene, i must finish my studies. That is the reason why when my first album sold well, i continuously recorded a few more but only did promotions in my summer holidays, hence people were still unfamilar to me."

Basically Lee Hom is a hardworking guy, he understands that to stay long in the music circle, he must try different types of music, learn more knowledge about music, thus the four years in college led him to open a new chapter in music production. This year Lee Hom graduates with outstanding results, was voted the "Class Musician" by teachers and students of Williams College and independently wrote, shaped and produced his graduating thesis-- a musical (The Bite that Burns), fully showing his passion and talent in music.

Now, Lee Hom has a plan for his future. "I'm grown up now and must return to America as an adult, live on my own and manage my own bills." Of course, that is not his only plans. He hope to furthur his studies In Boston. "I'll be studying topics related to vocal, production, writing and jazz piano."

Lee Hom is truely a talented boy and filled with great dreams.
