Although Leehom is a contempoary pop singer, his first love will always be classical music. Having learnt music since young, Leehom often listens to orchestral pieces as a form of relaxation. One of his wishes is also to be part of a Broadway musical.
Recently, a Taiwanese theatre group approached him to act in their musical but because of time constraints, Leehom had to put this idea of working with them, many of which are his close friends, aside tempoarily. Leehom said that he is indeed in a very special position in the Chinese pop scene because due to his American background, he is able to infuse his music with western elements, hence forming his own style, so to speak. Thus, he sees no rush in trying to break into the international market though he adds that the probability of him recording an English album is still very high.
On the topic of him majoring in music in the univeristy, Leehom expressed a twinge of regret, not because of the subject, of course, but because whenever summer break came, he would have to go back to Taiwan to 'work' while his friends all went holidaying. With all the recording and promotional stuff to do, the so-called holiday really wasn't one anymore. However, now that he has graduated, his fellow classmates actually envy him a lot cos this area is where his interests lie and he can put to practical use what he studied.
Apart from listening to music, Leehom often goes online when he's free. Laughing, he said that all he has to do is type his name into the 'search' box and he will find his fanpages. He even bookmarks those he likes!!
