why nearby hotels are better

Maneuvering a small suitcase, a large bag, bow and arrows props through the NY subway system is not fun. I don't care about the stares and stray comments (I didn't hear anything) but the fact that I went through Penn Station at rush hour (around 5pm,) and walking around so many people with so much stuff.... *grimace from the memory* That is why I pay large amounts of money for hotels so that I may stay as close as possible and not have to endure such chaos for cosplay and conventions.

dinner, last minute ironing and sewing

I got to the apartment, unpacked and laid out what needed to be done before I went out to buy food for the next three days. Mostly dinner and breakfast. I first stopped by Duane Reade to pick up several kinds of instant noodles and fruit-in-a-cup. (Alby-kun called me and chatted with me as I finished at DR.) I headed to the nearby gourmet market to pick up more food. The cashier threw two pieces of chocolate into the bag. Yummy! ^.^

I ate, showered and commenced the ironing. I brought my own iron since the apartment didn't have one. No ironing board, so I settled for the bed. Note to self: next time, attempt to obtain hard surface. It was good enough. Sewing came afterwards. The shoulder piece came apart in one area of my Kikyo costume which I mended quickly.

That done, I figured out my schedule for the next day, set my alarm for 8:45am and slept.
