A walking tour of Shinjuku

I won't detail about how long it took us to get there, but with my apartment mate leading, we were able to view the beautiful Tocho buildings before us. Three separate buildings make up Tocho.

The one directly across from the front of the main building is building 3. *points to above*

I took a 'look up' shot of Tocho before when I was here in 2006. So the above is an updated pic of it. ^.^ When we were inside, I had a pic moment of myself on the stairs. Why? Because the stairs were there.

In the elevator, we saw this sign. Of course, it's only a caution sign to not get your hand stuck inbetween the doors. But it's so cute!

We head to the observation deck on the 45th floor of the South wing (since the north wing is closed every other tuesday) and caught the beautiful views. Unlike my visit in 2006, this time the sky was clear and I could see the landmarks perfectly. Tokyo Tower greeted me from afar....

Mt. Fuji is in the distance. (Can't see Mt. Fuji? The white mountain shaped cloud in the distance in the middle IS Mt. Fuji. ^.^)

I was in the North wing in '06. Similar to the other wing, there was also a cafe and little shop there. There was even someone playing the guitar on the side. The souvenir shop was filled with tasty Tokyo treats. I'll probably pick some up to bring to Taiwan. So many Hello Kitty charms...but I resisted the urge for a shopping spree. *gasp* I had another pic moment!

Wanna know where I live? *points to the middle of the picture below* My apartment is right there! Isn't it nice? ^.^

There is a white flat egg in the distance...that is the Tokyo Dome.

The sign below saids (as translated by my apartment mate) 'Have fun looking at the little cars below! Don't bang your head against the glass.' Paraphrasing but I'm not joking. ^.^

So, of course, here is a pic of the 'little cars below!'

Today was Chinese tourists day and there were many people around me spouting Chinese. *ignore ignore ignore* Even the sales woman in the shop spoke Chinese. (Perhaps she was trilingual since Tocho is a tourist spot. Maybe I can work there.... *thinks*) After looking around, we headed out. Outside and to the left of the main Tocho building was this fountain. Another pic moment!

Hungry, we headed to the main Shinjuku area and had lunch. KFC in Japan! The meat was moist with juices and quite tasty. There is some difference in taste from here and in the US, but it was delicious all the same. We even have coupons now! More KFC!

After lunch, we walked to Kinokuniya where I browsed through some manga and my apartment mate drooled over the JE magazines. Then we walked home.... But not before I took some shots of Shinjuku at night.

Blinding cars is fun. *evil grin* lol not really. We stopped by the 100 yen shop to get some snacks that I couldn't get before and some new dinner choices before walking back to the apartment. Today was a beautiful day to be walking in and we took full advantage of it. ^.^ Yay!
