a classic tour of the Meji Shrine
There are several entrances to the Meji Shrine. We chose the entrance that was closest to Harajuku station. Past the entrance was a pebbly path. To the left were lanterns and at the right were wine barrels from France.
The wine barrels were gifts from wineries in order to strength the bond between the two countries.
We followed the sign to the main shrine area. At the left were water for the ritual cleansing.
There weren't that many people there since it wasn't a holiday. It was nice to see miko and a priest walking about. Charms were sold at the right of the main entrance.
I even got a pic of myself thanks to my apartment mate. ^.^
There was a large courtyard past the entrance.
A large tree surrounded by prayer tablets were at the side.
I got a few more pictures before the security guard waved us out since the shrine was closing.
