| SIGHTING 1 the first cases of this terrifying and strange creature were made on november 15, 1966. a pair of married couples were driving by a deserted TNT plant near point pleasant, weat virginia where they witenssed something that would change their lives. what they saw that night was a large pair of glowing red eyes. the eyes were reported to be on a creature that stood about 6 or 7 feet tall. it carrie large wings folded on it's side. the creature then dashed away, and the startled couples sped off. as the couples dashed back to point pleasant, they spotted the creature again on a hillside near the road. as they watched, they saw the creature spread it's bat-like wings with ease, rise into the air and begin to follow close behind the car as it was then speeding at over 100mph. as the couples reached the city limits of the town, that creature broke off the chase and went back towards the desert. As they were driving, they had noticed a dead dog lying on the road, and when returning to the scene with police investigatores, they were not able to locate the dog's body. SIGHTING 2 that same night, newell partridge was watching television on november 15 at about 10:30 when the television screen disappeared. partridge claims that the screen was then replaced with a "fine herringbone pattern" and a loud "whinning noise" . his dog began to whine and howl on his porch, so partridge stepped out to investigate. when he stepped out his dog ran to the barn, which was located about 450 feet away. he claims that he shined a light on the barn, and picked up two red circle-like eyes. the dog was experienced in hunting and fending for himself, so partridge ran inside grabbed his loaded gun and barricated himself inside his small house. the next day partridge wasn't able to locate his dog, although there were tracks left of the dog runing in circles(as if chasing something in the sky). a reporter then later gave the creature the nickname mothman after a bat man character. SIGHTING 3 for the next year a large number of sightings were made . the most infamous, perhaps, of all the sightings involves two adults and their infant on november 16, 1966. after visiting friends the trio stepped out of the house and began to walk to their cars. one of the women named marcella benett was so frightened by the creature that she actually dropped her baby!! as the monster unfolded it's giant winges raymond wansley scooped up the child and dragged the stunned woman into the house. the trio later claimed it to be a "big gray thing" "bigger than a man" . "the beast had no distinct head, but a large stump above it's shoulers" the creature then FOLLOWED them to the porch making strange sounds and looking inside the windows.. by the time the police had arrived the creature was already gone. after that, more sightings came(over 100) what could this strange creature have been that so many people witnessed that year? we may never no, but the question is still being asked and investigated. |
