There is nothing more frustrating then broken links on a web site. Just when you have stumbled onto something great you realize the page has moved or no longer exist. In just the few months that I have been working on this web site several links have become defunct and needed to be replaced. I'm fortunate that I have 5 parent volunteers, one each day of the week, and they are anxious to help in any way that they can. They will be adopting a page to check weekly for link rot. I have also added my e-mail address on every page should someone discover a link that is not working they can contact me and it can be fixed quickly.
It is also important to keep the pages updated. It keeps users coming back to see what is new. I hope to add more photos of the kids because they love to see themselves on the web site. I also have several students who are learning the basics of dreamweaver and they will be creating pages of their favorite books or of their completed projects which will be added to the site on a regular basis. Our school curriculum units remain the same, however our approach to teaching them changes yearly which will be mean constant updating. It is important that the site links be relevant and up-to-date or the kids will lose interest. I have added a library Blog that will allow me to update the web site daily if need be with current events and activities.
