Check links on the following pages: (Parent Library Volunteers will check)
Every Monday =Question
Every Tuesday = Discover
Every Wednesday = Explore
Every Thursday = Imagine
Every Friday = Read
Every Monday the Student Picks and the Teacher Picks pages will be changed
to highlight a new reader. The pages will be made by students under my supervision
and I will be linking the pages.
Every other Friday new class projects will be added to the imagine pages. I will take care of the pages and links.
Subject matter links will be added as time permits but most likely will not be completed until Summer 2006.
The Library Blog can be updated everyday as need be. Activities, contests, new books, events, etc…can keep the students and staff informed of upcoming events.
Major updates will need to be completed every two weeks for the School intranet posting and every month for the Corporation internet posting.
An inquiry link will be created for each of the major subject areas for example, Questions about Egypt will be linked to the Discover page, which will link to the Explore page, then the Imagine and finally the Read page. This will be a time consuming job that will be an added feature to the web site but not a necessity. (Summer 2007)
Evaluation of the web site will be ongoing throughout the school year. Observations will be made on the usage of the site during research projects, interviews will be conducted to determine links that are not being used. Survey with the teachers after every major research project will question the effectiveness of the links. (During and after research projects)
Advertisement and promotion of the web site will start December 14th during out Technology Tuesday meeting when the site is unveiled. It will be available for the parents to see during the January 2005 Open House. Posters and Flyers will be created by students during the second week of January 2005. Parents will be informed about the site through the grade-level newsletters that go out December 17, 2004. Web Navigation training will begin with all grade levels starting January 3, 2005.
The web page will be available on the internet in the next 2 months. It is only available on the intranet at this time.
The library card catalog will need to be set by the technology team from the school corporation to be available on the internet. (Summer 2005)
How to build simple web pages will begin with interested students on January 3, 2005 before school.
