Westlife, Hey Whatever HHHHH

DITCHING their trademark ballads for a more upbeat vibe, the Westlife boys return sounding more invigorated than they have in a long while. A remarkably uptempo little track, Hey Whatever is more in the vain of World Of Our Own rather than Flying Without Wings and combines pop, soul and rock influences to create an anthemic track which deserves to top the charts. There's an overwhelming sense that this is the sort of music the boys have been battling to release for a long time and throughout every verse and chorus you can almost hear them sing for joy that they've waved goodbye to cover versions for now at least. More of the same please.
