Somebody Needs You
Tears of rage built up in her eyes, yet it didn't manage to cover the hurt.
She breathed in deeply as if about to say something, instead she let out a short
sob, before turning around and running out the room, slamming the door shut
behind her.
Shane shut his eyes, and let out a sigh as he let his shoulder drop to his sides.
He clenched a fist as hard as he could. His arm shot out, followed by a dull
thud as his fist made contact with the wall. A bolt of pain ran up his arm,
but he did feel slightly better for it. He looked at the dent he had left in
the wall. He dare not look down at his hand, which was now throbbing. He knew
it was broken, but he didn't care. He was left standing in his hotel room with
an empty feeling that was his heart. Why had he hurt her, the only one he loved,
why couldn't he have just said sorry, he knew he was wrong, but his damn pride
just wouldn't let him. Now she was gone, his life and soul had just walked out
the door, he had to do something.
He slipped on his shoes and ran out the door leaving his jacket behind, he didn't
have time for that.
Tears rolled down her cheeks and she ran down the busy streets. Everyone was
looking at her yet no one stopped to help. She ran towards the near by park
where she sat on a bench. She drew her knee's up to her chest and rested her
chin on them. She cried helplessly as the rain began to fall. The more she cried
the harder the rain fell. She heard a distant mumble of people. She looked up
to see two scruffy, dirty looking men. They were both staring at her whispering
to each other. She turned away, but she could still hear their whispers, but
not clear enough to work out what was being said. Her stomach turned as fear
gripped hold of her and refused to let go as she heard footstep approach. She
was about to run as she felt a tight grip on her shoulder, which pulled her
to the ground. She pushed herself up only to be knocked back down again. She
tried to scream, but it just got caught in her throat. She kicked her legs as
hard as she could, but she missed, the second time she did it, she felt it make
contact, as well as hearing a pain filled scream. She stood up once again and
went to run, but they grabbed hold of her again.
Shane turned the corner of the street, he prayed she was in the place she always
went to think. He crossed the road to the park he stood at the gate frantically
looking around to find her. He looked towards where she usually sat, there was
a struggle, what looked to be a mugging, he couldn't make who any of the people
were, his heart leapt to his throat, a cold wave of dread went through his body.
He knew he had to stop it. He ran towards them, everything was in slow motion,
a gasp escaped his chest as he saw the flash of the silver knife.
She froze as the knife went deep into her stomach, she could taste blood, she
hit the cold, hard floor with a thud, everything went fuzzy she couldn't focus
on anything. She blinked trying to regain her eyesight, only to see the two
men run off. Once again everything went fuzzy.
Shane kneeled over her. He held his hand to her wound in an attempt to stop
the blood from flowing. The rain was still falling hard, she opened her eyes
to see his soaked face.
"Don't move sweetie" he said, trying to sound calm. "We need
to get you to a hospital!" He looked down at her. She shook her head and
tried to speak. Her got there first. "Can you move?" He asked already
knowing the answer. She shook her head again. "I'll call an ambulance"
he said patting his pockets looking for him mobile. His eyes shut remembering
his phone was in his jacket pocket. He put his hand back on her wound and pressed
down hard. He started yelling for help, no one was around to hear it, who would
be out in this weather. He looked down at her tears fell from his eyes. "I'm
so sorry baby" his eyes closed as heavy drips fell from his eyes.
"Shane" she mumbled "I love you" she looked at him, she
knew she wasn't going to survive this. She could feel herself slipping away.
"I love you too baby, more than anything, I'm sorry"
"I know you are, there's nothing you can do, just know that I love you,
like I know you love me" her eyes fluttered closed. He took a breath in,
shaking his head. He knew she was gone. He put his face in his hands and sobbed
over the death of his only love. The rain fell hard on his back. She was gone,
he was never going to see her again. It was his fault. He was left in this world
alone. He knew he couldn't live without her. It would only be a matter of time
before he was with her again. That brought him a sense of comfort. He looked
down at her, she was so innocent, she didn't deserve this. He lent in and kisses
her delicate lips one last time.
"Soon my darling" he whispered "soon we will be together again".
He closed his eyes and waited for the darkness to come.
