LITERARY CRITIC

 

Directions:  You will be creating a handout for the archaeological convention that explains how ziggurats were created and what they were used for.  You will use Microsoft Word or AppleWorks to create your handout. You must answer these questions somewhere in your handout.

a.    How do you think this story was originally passed down?

b.    What is the story about?

c.    What are some gods mentioned in the story?

d.    Describe what the gods are like.

e.    What does this story tell you about Mesopotamian religion?

2.    Go to http://www.wsu.edu/~dee/MESO/GILG.HTM and read the first paragraph.

a.    Was Gilgamesh real?  What do we know about him?

b.    In what language was this story originally written?

c.    What did you find interesting about Gilgamesh?

3.    What does this story tell us about Mesopotamian culture?

4.    In your handout, include at least one picture of what you would imagine a character from the story to look like.
