Eliza Quits Smoking!
HereÃÔ a grand change. News provided by our dear, Faith.
[See Message Board]

Actress and ex-smoker Eliza Dushku will launch the auction with the help of 100 smokers committed to quitting. Each participant will apply the new ThinFlex patch and put it to the ultimate flex test in a mass yoga event in Los Angeles on June 29. After the session, Dushku, best known for her roles in the WB's supernatural series "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer" and FOX's hit drama "Tru Calling," will write her own message of encouragement on a yoga mat to add to the collection of other yoga mats from some of the biggest names in film, television, sport and music. The mats will be auctioned on eBay or at http://www.NicoDermAuction.com from June 29 through July 18. All proceeds (100 percent) will be donated to the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping prevent new generations of smokers from starting in the first place.

Eliza Dushku, who recently gave up smoking using the NicoDerm CQ patch, knows all about the challenges of quitting.

"Quitting smoking was one of the most difficult things for me to do in my life," explains Dushku. "It's important to me to work with other stars to support this cause and it's exciting to tell smokers about tools like the ThinFlex patch that are easy to wear and fit their lifestyles."

Screen Caps- The Kiss

Thanks a lot to Faith for the head ups. [Message Board] We were discussing Eliza's flick, "The Kiss" in the forum. And really up until now, I don't know whether it was really released on the big screen. Not much carpet about it, but other sites' seasoned it last 2003- Eliza playing the role of Megan. So does anyone have really seen it with popcorn and soda on the theater cramped  seat?  Just satisfying my curiosity.

And not to baffle in great deal since its Dvd has already been released, here's the found site screencaps.

March 30,2005
We love you, Mum!

ItÃÔ been a while and gradually, IÃÎ learning to digest what has happened. Essentially, death is part of life. When my mother has passed away weeks ago, I canÃÕ comprehend why humans exist so that they can die. Then I realized what my dad told me, we basically subsist on a temporary seat, and life on earth is inconsequential as what we have after death. Real happiness and gratification can only be gained on eternal verve, a life with our creator.

My mum has been diagnosed with diabetes several years ago. We had taken her to the hospital numerous times so we can, in the interim, extend her life. After that, she would be fine again. So goes the cycle. On November 25, 2002, she was on a drawback. She was asleep for quite a few hours and the following day, November 26, she was announced clinically dead by the doctor. Blood pressure was down to 20. Exactly no pulse. There was tension all over the place and we just prayed religiously. After couple of minutes, God has moved in our set- a miracle; she opened her eyes and immediately asked for water. We smiled at her, as if it was a welcoming gesture that she was physically back.

This was her story. When she was gone for a while, she had a journey in heaven. The place was grand and the gate was widely open. She entered, moved around the place but there was no one. Thinking if she was really on the right place, she heard a voice. God has sent her back, and told her that it wasnÃÕ her time yet.

As she was telling us the story, we were just overwhelmed and just exclaimed, ŵhank God.¡¦

On January 11, 2005, the last of all confinements, doctors have suggested for a dialysis treatment. My mum said she would never need the treatment as God has provided her spare parts in heaven. God has enthused to her life again. She had a thanksgiving party in our house after the brief recovery. In bed, she was telling people on how good God is and was for her.

It was Saturday, March 05, I got a message from my sister that mum was looking for me. I went home with my friend, Pam, and brought her pansit- her favorite food. As I was feeding her, I noticed that she couldnÃÕ breathe evenly. I whispered, Ū love you,¡¦and she started crying. She was only uttering my sis¡¦name since she already had memory loss. I just hugged her. My dad and I prayed that night. I went to sleep and woke up hearing my mumÃÔ cry. She was in pain. The same morning that gave me confirmation that she was nearing her days already. It was through a dream. Or maybe it was just a dream as I convinced myself.

I went back to Makati, Tuesday, March 8 since I have work the following day. Ever since I went to Makati, I never stopped texting and calling them to check mum. Around 4am, Thursday, March 10, I decided to call the house. They told me that mum took Soya that morning. I felt good that somehow she digested something since sheÃÔ been asleep for hours. On the same day, from 1130 am to 1230 pm, my family and I have been texting each other. I was already on the downside when my sister texted me, ÅÉinahabol na daw ni mommy ang hininga nÃÚa at may tumulo na daw na dugo sa bibig nya¡¦go home na.¡¦[mum is now catching her breath, and blood has already poured out from her mouth, please go home immediately]. I started crying. I was haggling with God to give her another chance. I donÃÕ know what to do next. It seemed like the world has stopped for a while. I got a phone call from dad telling me that mum was no longer breathing. I asked him nervously, ÅØhat do you mean no longer breathing, is she dead?¡¦My dad hopelessly answered, Ū will still need to confirm, just go home now.¡¦

I rushed home, having no idea whether mum was already dead or not. On my way, IÃ×e been receiving calls from our U.S relatives. I was telling myself, why are these people calling me. I didnÃÕ answer the phone coz I donÃÕ want them to validate my fear. As soon as I saw our gate, the helpers were cleaning our garage. Just reminded me that mum has left a word before she died --- she would like to have her wake in our garage. As I went inside, I asked them. Where is mum? They just looked at me. No one said a word. I vehemently repeated myself, ÅØhere is mum?¡¦ They just told me, Mayveen, sheÃÔ happy now. I ran towards her room and saw her lifeless body in bed. I was shaking. I was crying out loud. I went to her, shook her body to wake up. But she can no longer hear. Her hands were cold. I was out of control. Shook her again, but nothing happened. They just embraced me.

As we were waiting for the ambulance to pick her body up, they told me to say goodbye to mum for the very last time. I kissed and hugged her. According to dad, tears flowed from my mumÃÔ eyes when he held her in his arms. Then it brought a smile on her face. It made me think of her more, stopped crying. Dad is right, how could we be so selfish, sheÃÔ in a better place now.

No more insulin, no more meds, above all, no more pains.

Goodbye for now, mum. You will always be in our hearts.

Goodbye Mom

My heart is grieving. I donÃÕ know whatÃÔ in store for me in the next coming days, months¡¦IÃÎ still in the state of disbelief ¡¦my mom is dead. Yes, she died last week, March 10, 2005 at the age of 55. I feel so empty. Our house is empty. I miss my mom.

I will be gone for a while guys¡¦#060;/font>

Top 99 Women

Inserted...
Happy Birthday Bestfriend Dush!=)

Eliza Dushku is among the Top 99 most desirable women in 2005 as per AskMen.com and ReaderÃÔ Desirability Score. Currently in 63rd place, letÃÔ have a glimpse on the former slayerÃÔ note.

Taken from here.

WHY SHE IS FAMOUS:
Remember Arnie's cute daughter in True Lies? Or smoking hot cheerleader Missy in Bring It On? No? Then how about that vampire-hunting hottie named Faith in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, who made you think naughty things when she clutched a wooden stake? That's why Eliza's famous. Most recently, she has been starring in the Fox show Tru Calling.

WHY SHE IS DESIRABLE:
Eliza has the face of a golden era Italian movie muse with the body of a lingerie model. She made us do somersaults as a cheerleader and got us to purr when she wore a catsuit in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. A woman this dazzling can come slay our demons any time.

Tru in the Philippines

Are you ready for Tru Calling?

Tru Calling is set to be a part of Filipino's viewing as Studio 23 geared up to make it's programming even stronger. No timeslot was given up to yet but I'll keep you posted on this. Here's Manila Times piece of information with regard to Tru Calling's acquisition...

Katigbak is proud of the channelÃÔ homegrown series like Strangebrew, which has been doing well ratings-wise. ŵhe show features actual footage of seances, none of them are reenacted by professional actors. Audience response has been encouraging,¡¦he revealed.

He stressed, however, that this new emphasis on local shows doesnÃÕ translate to Studio 23 abandoning foreign programs. While canned series like The West Wing (which attracts an older audience) go on hiatus until the next season arrives, Studio 23 will airing new acquisitions like Tru Calling, Jake 2.0, and Miss Match, with stars Alicia Silverstone.

Tru Calling: Update
HowÃÔ everyone? ItÃÔ good to know that you guys still stop at this site while I sit as a "temporary secretary" on my own page. Just a little report on my whereabouts, IÃÎ working on a site right now. ItÃÔ an online web designing service that caters to any business and/or individual globe representation. Tru Calling...
Thank you so much to Ricky Claydon of for sending me this email.

Despite itÃÔ second season being postponed until the new year, Eliza Dushku couldn't be happier about the new season of the time-travelling show. She talks to dreamwatch.

She describes what we can expect from season two:

This season really, for me, is about going into the unknown and really playing with the formula. We have some new guest stars coming in this year, and thereÃÔ just going to be a lot of mysterious twists.

She reveals her excitement at other new comers to the Tru Calling family.

We also have a bunch of new writers onboard, including an old frend of mine, [former Buffy and Angel writer-producer] Jane Espenson. I¡¦ thrilled with the new writers that are joining us, particularly the women, because, you know, it's a show about a 23-year-old girl, so I think we should have some pretty significant female writers in that room.

What we can expect to see from Tru Davies in season two:

I think Tru is going to be a little more kick-ass this year ¡¦there¡¦ going to be a lot more Eliza in Tru.

And how she spent her summer hiatus:

I actually spent the fourth of July on a ranch in Idaho. I like jogging by the wheat fields and by the spuds. So I was embracing my inner cowgirl in a major way!

She explains why she decided to leave the Buffyverse and take the role on Tru Calling instead.

I was raised by a woman who taught me that my mission in life was to be a role model for young women and to be someone who empowers young women. I always thought my role on Tru Calling could have that kind of influence, and I hope it will give me the chance to have that kind of influence.

Tru Calling...

Here
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) Those who are aniticpating watching Eliza Dushku jump back and forth in time this fall will have to wait longer than they thought.

FOX, which is making a habit of filling out its schedules in pencil, has decided to delay the second season of "Tru Calling," which stars Dushku as a medical student/morgue attendant who has the ability to go back in time to prevent untimely deaths. Originally slated to premiere Thursday, Nov. 4, the show will now debut "later in the season," the network says.

The non-specific time frame is usually not a good sign for a show. A FOX spokesman says, however, that "Tru" is in production, which is better news.
