Local unions have been encouraged to make strike support donations and cheque presentations will occur at 5:00 P.M. followed by the speakers.

“Lafarge defied it's dedicated employees and put them out in the cold now they are defying the community with their decision to ignore orders from the township to remove the scab shacks” said Peter Boyle, president of the Kingston Labour Council. “Their contempt for the community and their employees is shameful” Boyle added.

Music, hot drinks and hotdogs a la burn barrel will be served up to celebrate the solidarity of the striking workers and their families and offer support for the ongoing struggle to reach an equitable agreement. Car pooling to the BBQ will be leaving at 3:30 and 4:15 pm from the Steelworkers Hall, 206 Concession St. to the Lafarge Plant on highway 33.
