Neo-Queen Serenity walked down the long, glass hallways of Crystal Tokyo. She felt weak, cold, and sweat was slowly making its way down the sides of her forehead. She felt as if the room was tilted, everything spinning, and she tried and tried to push herself farther down, but her immunity gave up on her, and she collapsed. A nearby guard had found her, and immediately summoned the King. King Endymion ran to his unconscious wife, picked her up, and took her to his bedchamber. He lay her down on the huge bed, took off his glove, and felt her sweaty forehead. King Endymion swallowed hard. It was scorching hot, and he found that his wife¡¯s breathing was becoming very heavy and short.

¡®My God no¡¦¡¯ he thought to himself. ¡®Please Lord¡¦Please¡¦no¡¦It can not be¡¦Why Serena¡¦My sweet little Serena¡¦.¡¯ He thought, squeezing her small, cold, pale hand. He concentrated hard, trying to see if he could somehow heal her by using his power, but it was not that kind of wound, his love was developing Lungingtitis- A serious disease in which on of the white blood cells reacts to something in the body, and instead of treating the virus(which was the thing in the body) It promoted it, and attacked the lungs first, making it difficult to breathe, and soon the victim will run out of air, and eventually lead to death. (AN: I made that up!! Do not get freaked out! It¡¯s from the land of pretend!! Remember fan FICTION!!! Don¡¯t sue! I have nothing!) There was nothing no one could do for now. Even with the powerful technology of Crystal Tokyo, where new things are born every day, nothing. Serena¡¯s breath was getting shorter and shorter by the minute. All he could do was pray, pray to the dear God above. He had silver tears run down his cheeks, as he watched the dramatic increase in the movement of Serena¡¯s chest. (AN: NO hentaii folks, ahaha!) Serena opened one of her blue eyes.

¡°Darien¡¦.You¡¦Are¡¦.Here¡¦.What¡¦.Has¡¦..Happened¡¦.¡± she asked, soundly horrible. Darien could only cry.

¡°My love, your¡¦your condition¡¦.You have¡¦.¡±

¡°Darien¡¦.¡± Her voice was fading fast. ¡°Please¡¦.Hold on to me a little longer¡¦¡±

¡°You are the one that needs to hold on, Serena. Please, don¡¯t die on me¡¦.¡±

¡°Darien¡¦I can feel it¡¦..Please¡¦..Take care of Rini for me¡¦¡¦¡±

¡°SERENA!! No! You can¡¯t!¡± he yelled, guards everywhere heard his cry, and began to run to the bedchamber. Serena breathed one last time, exhaled sharply, tilting her head to the side, and fell limp in front of him.

¡°SSSSSSEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNNNNNNNAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!¡± he screamed, as the hand that was in his fell out, hanging off of the side of the bed, the bed they always slept in together, where Rini had been conceived, and now her deathbed. Guards burst into the door, and before saying anything, they saw the lavender cape of the King sagging down to the floor, his other gloved fist pounding into the white sheets of the bed, and muffled curses and sobs were heard. ¡°Why did she die so suddenly?! WHY?!! WHY HER??! WHY ANYBODY TO SUFFER?!!¡± The guards exited the room, deciding on a more appropriate time to barge in the door. Darien cried and cried until his eyes were red and sore, producing no more tears. He just kept on whimpering her name, and sobbing her name out over and over again, and swearing to himself he would love no other woman, no other woman was a great as her, he would take care of the two month baby, and take care of Japan and the world itself. One guard had come in, and cleared his throat. Darien ran his hand through his bangs, and looked to see who came in. ¡°What?¡± he snapped, still mourning over the sudden loss of his wife.

¡°King Endymion, we advise you have the body removed now,¡± he said. ¡°They believe it can be contagious to those of other blood.¡±

¡°Who said this?¡±

¡°Mizuno-sama. They want her gone, and now, your highness.¡±

¡°Mizuno has no right whatsoever to tell me to bury my wife and get it over with. No one does either,¡± his voice was VERY angry.

¡°But-!¡±

¡°But nothing! That is a royal command, and I bury her when I am ready to!¡±

¡°Yes, King Endymion,¡± he bowed, and left the room.

¡°Serena¡¦I¡¦.I promise to do everything I can for you¡¦And I promise and swear to myself that everyday I pray for you to come back to me¡¦.I promise¡¦I love you, Serena,¡± and he touched the soft lips of the dead queen for the very last time.

***Four Years Later***

King Endymion lay in his bed. Alone, cold, upset, depressed, stressed, and wanted someone to talk to. It had been four years since his wife had died, and his daughter Rini had grown up much, now a four-year old. Every now and then she would ask, ¡°Daddy, where is Mommy?¡± and he would smile and say, ¡°Your mother is in a place where angels sing, and one day she¡¯ll come to visit us.¡± And her red eyes would light up and she gasp, ¡°Really?¡± Endymion would give a chuckle, ¡°Yes, she will¡¦Someday¡¦¡± And everyday he would always pray to the God above that he took good care of his wife, and he had said hello, and he still loved her, about their daughter, how much she had grown, how she looked like her mother, and how she figured out how to make her hair Odango style just like her mother. And he would somehow know that Serena was listening with him, and she always looked down upon him. And every night as a bedtime story, he would tell his daughter, Princess Small Lady Serenity, things about her mother, Sailor Moon, angels, and she would always love them, asking him to retell certain things, and they were not only her favorites, but his as well. Other than the royal family itself, Crystal Tokyo was growing, things being built, industry continuing, and technology as well. There was a cure figured out for the terrible disease his wife had died upon, and they named it after her, ¡°Serenitatis.¡± The King was glad there was a cure for people who were suffering from the terrible disease, and he continued to pray to his wife, telling her everything, as he told his girl bedtime stories. But something inside his heart had ached. It was love. He felt love from his daughter surely, but he craved for the love of his darling little Serena. He wanted to taste her kisses, he wanted to hold her frail little body, he wanted her small, warm body sleeping next his, bright, cheery blue eyes to stare in, long, blonde hair to feel, and to brush, soft hands to kiss and hold, rosy red cheeks to blush at small comments, ears to hear his comments and to whisper, ¡°I love you¡± in them, giggles from the small little mouth, her flat stomach to tickle her with, and she would go crazy, and everything else that lay upon her. He needed her to live so badly, he went crazy after a few hours without her. Sometimes he had dreams in which he saw her come to him, but she giggled, and ran away, and he would find himself hugging a pillow, and the sheets thrown all over the place. And it would be the same dream over, and over again, as if it were sent by her. And one of those days, while he lay out on the balcony, the wind blowing through his hair, the city lights below him. He could swear he heard giggles¡¦

¡°Mhmhmhm¡¦..¡± was the giggle. ¡°Darien¡¦.¡± The soft voice chanted. Darien¡¯s eyes widened, and the mask he held in his hand dropped as a warm, yellow light came towards him. A shapely figure with wings could be made out, and he gasped.

¡°S..Sss¡¦Ser¡¦Ser..¡± he couldn¡¯t finish her name. The figure was of a blonde-haired woman, wearing a thin, transparent white gown with golden trimmings, and silver wings that glistened.

¡°I tell you a tale my little one, there is a castle on a cloud, and in that castle lives a beautiful maiden with long blonde hair, and soft footsteps. And every night, she would give children their blessings, granting peace throughout the Earth¡¦¡± she began.

¡°¡¦And that woman was an angel¡¦She had white wings of a Pegasus, and a crescent moon above her forehead. She wore a gown of white, and brought merriment into everything that existed into this world¡¦¡± said The shocked King, who knew the bedtime story by heart.¡°¡¦And that angel, my dear Rini, is your mother¡¦She lives in a Castle upon a cloud, with all of the other angels¡¦And she¡¯ll always be there, watching over you,¡± finished the angel.

¡°Rena¡¦.Se¡¦rena¡¦¡± his hand reached out to touch her, to see if this was some kind of cooky dream, or it was for real. He could only feel warm light.

¡°Is this¡¦real?¡± he asked.

¡°It is real if you believe,¡± said Serena.

¡°Can I hold you?¡± he asked.

¡°You would go right through me, I am afraid. I have heard all of your prayers, my Darien¡¦I am here at last¡¦¡±

¡°Can you stay?¡±

¡°I cannot¡¦My body does not belong here, it is a departed soul. But I do know how I can become a human once more¡¦¡± he voice trailed off.

¡°You do?¡± his eyes lit up.

¡°Yes, and the Lord loves you so much, he will allow me to do this. Come, take my hand, and close your eyes, and hold on tight,¡± she said,, holding her hand out. Darien did as told, and found that they were in a cell of some sort.

¡°Why is it so dark?¡± he asked. Serena snapped her fingers, and the lights came on. It was an old laboratory, no doubt about it. There were old test tubes everywhere, an old microscope, and a huge machine, and one bottle containing a red substance in it. Serena hovered above in the air, while Darien looked around the bits of cobwebs that were strewn all over the place. ¡°What is this?¡±

¡°It is a very old laboratory that has a special machine a mad scientist had made up. It can convert ghosts back into their own form, and that potion over there can do just the thing,¡± she said, pointing to the objects she had just mentioned. The King looked at the machine.

¡°How do I operate this?¡± Serena floated over to him.

¡°I do not know, but it seems as if you put the ghost in here, and throw a few switches, and you have the human out in no time.¡±

¡°Shall we give it a try?¡± he asked, a smile upon his face.¡°Why not? You are highly intelligent, you will probably figure it out, Darien,¡± she said, getting into the machine. Darien than locked her up tight in there, put the potion in the socket that looked as if where it should fit, and then threw a few switches. A few seconds later, he unlocked the door, hoping to see his wife there, but instead she was black, covered in ashes, coughing.

¡°I do not think you did something right..¡± she coughed.

¡°I am sorry, but this is going to take a¡¦Aha!¡± he said, holding up a book that was falling apart, which was clearly labeled, ¡°INSTRUCTIONS¡±. Serena began to flicker away. ¡°Wait! Do not leave me!¡± he called out. Serena held his hand, and they were transported back to the room.

¡°My Darien, I will see you again tomorrow night, and then when you have it all figured out, we can be back together,¡± she said, kissing two fingers, and blew it to him. He did the same, and Serena faded away, returning to the Lord. All of the rest of the night, Darien read the instructions to the strange machine, memorizing it even, so he could hold his wife in his arms all of the rest of his life, and his daughter could see her for the first time in four years. That night, he had sweet dreams of kissing her, marrying her all over again, the childbirth and conceiving of Rini, the battles they fought, the Silver Millenium, and everything they had. He also dreamed about their future together if she could be made a human again, hoping to have more children, for he enjoyed raising Rini so much, he wanted to raise others with her.

***The Next Morning***

Rini woke up, got dressed, and went to go see her father in the throne room, where she enjoyed sitting in her mother¡¯s throne, pretending to be the queen of Crystal Tokyo, and Darien would be her servant, and she would say silly things, and they had so much fun together, laughing. He did that if he had nothing else to do, and sometimes if he was working late at night, she knew she wouldn¡¯t get to see her father until early morning, so she would go to him, and he would prop her on his lap, and tell a short story, and put her to bed in the cot that he had in his workroom.

¡®Boy, if Daddy¡¯s this much fun to be with, I wonder if Mommy¡¯s just as much fun,¡¯ she thought one day, as she headed out for her chores, which unlike most children, she enjoyed doing, and she usually cleaned the floors of the ballrooms before the balls, helped the cooks in the kitchen by picking the ripest fruit, and she would store it in her dress by folding it upward, and some of the cook would let her stir the batter, taste new recipes, and if they were baking a pie, they would take some flour, and put it on her nose saying, ¡°That one is for being just like your mother,¡± the old Greek cook would say. An Itailan chef would add to it by putting flour on her rosy cheeks. ¡°Ay, your mother was an angel she was. And those are for being like your father as well, so intelligent, and quiet. Little Princess, go off and have fun, but be careful,¡± and they would give her a fig, and off she went to her other chores. Today she needed to clean the ballroom floors, and as she cleaned, she sang,

¡°There is a castle on a cloud.
I Like to go there in my sleep.
Aren¡¯t any floors for me to sweep.
Not in my castle on a cloud.

There is a room that¡¯s full of toys.
There are a hundred boys and girls.
Nobody shouts or talks too loud.
Not in my Castle on a Cloud.

There is a lady all in white
Holds me a sings a lullaby
She¡¯s nice to see and she¡¯s soft to touch
She says, ¡°Rini, I love you very much.¡±

I know a place where no one¡¯s lost.
I know a place where no one cries.
Crying at all is not allowed.
Not in my Castle on a Cloud.¡± *

*From Les Miserables, not mine, someone else¡¯s, on Broadway, go see it, I haven¡¯t

The King was passing through the hallways, and spotted his offspring singing, cleaning as she did. He was amazed at the little girl, and was touched because he remembered his wife sang just as well, having the voice of pure gold. But there was something he didn¡¯t spot¡¦

>BANG!<

¡°AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!¡± was the cry of the little girl. Instead of nice clean floors, it was stained with blood.

**Much, much later that day**

King Endymion had cried probably just as much as he did when his wife passed away. There was some sort of madman who was jealous of the child that shot her, and the most sentimental thing was the fact that she passed away on the same day as his wife, with a tragic accident as well. King Endymion had the chance to shoot the man who had killed his daughter, but was too emotionally upset to do anything or go anywhere. He gave up his faith. His two angels were dead, and now real angels in the above and beyond. He kept thinking if he should just give up and die already. But how? It was easy, take a pistol to his head, and commit suicide, so he could be with his two angels in heaven. But what about the old machine? He needed to get in touch with the angel of Serena tonight as she promised, but Rini needed to be there too. He loved both the same, but only one could stay as a human, the other above. If Serena was reincarnated as a human once more, and Rini, only a mere child long forgotten, they could produce other babies, and be just as happy. But he loved Rini too, and she was probably the purest little thing in the world, taking in after her mother. If she was to be chosen, and her mother not, he would have her to tell stories to, and in his spare time play games with her, or hear her sing, or have her sit on his lap, and watch her small eyelids close as she went to bed each night. But then he would still be lonely, craving for his wife. He simply could not live with one without the other. What if he could make another potion? But there was no evidence of how it was made whatsoever, and he wasn¡¯t sure of how to analyze it, for he might mess something up.

**That Night**

The angel came to him once more, and this time, with the dead body of Rini.

¡°Darien, come, we are going to do what we must,¡± she said. She closed her eyes, and once more, they were in the underground cellar.

¡°Serena, if I don¡¯t-,¡± he began.

¡°Darien, children are the most important thing in the world, more than anything else. They are the future, the light. What is a queen going to do without happiness of the small little one in her life? Rini is more important than me, she needs a chance in life. She was so pure and good natured to everything, and always looked on the bright side. She listened to your stories, and believed them. The castle on a cloud song¡¦I was in her dreams as I was in yours, maintaining my spirit to her, and her memories of being only two months old. Darien, come, act fast, put her in the machine, and she will come back to life,¡± said Serena, handing Rini over to him.

¡°I agree with you, but what about you?¡± he asked. ¡°I love you both, I just¡¦I need you both¡¦You two are my only family I have left¡¦.Serena¡¦Is there another way?¡± she shook her head no.

¡°I am afraid not, but what does it matter to me anyway? I have watched the little one grow up in your care, you took wonderful responsibility, raising the most purest hearted person I know. She is all that matters to me right now, and I would enjoy my life with her more than without.¡± The King nodded and put the body in the machine. He did the instructions according to the manual, and then opened the door. There was Rini, in living flesh and all. She was coughing from all of the smoke. Serena smiled from above.

¡°Thank God you are alright,¡± said the King, holding the child close to him.

¡°Daddy, what happened? I was cleaning the floors, then I felt something¡¦something painful¡¦and then it was dark¡¦I kept calling for you, but I couldn¡¯t see¡¦.And then, I was here¡¦.¡± There were tears in her eyes as she talked.

¡°Everything¡¯s alright, dearest¡¦Everything¡¯s alright¡¦.¡± Serena smiled, having a few tears of happiness down her cheeks as well. Rini looked up, and saw Serena.

¡°Daddy! Look! It¡¯s an angel!¡± she said, pointing to it. Serena smiled. ¡°It¡¯s just like how you described Mummy! Exactly like her!¡± she said. Serena floated to the ground, and hovered over to the little one.

¡°Yes, Rini my darling¡¦I am your mother,¡± she said, holding her transparent hand in hers.

¡°Can you stay with us?¡±

¡°I am afraid that I cannot, love. I am not a human. I am an angel, and I live in a world full of them. I can visit sometimes though.¡±

¡°Can you come everyday?¡±

¡°I might be able to, in your dreams, Rini. But I can¡¯t¡¦But I will always be looking down on you, and whenever you need help, ask me, and I will be there for you. I watched you grow up, my child. I remember from when you were only in my belly, and then you were so small, I held you in my arms, while you were sleeping. But awhile after that, Rini¡¦I had been called to the castle I live in.¡± she said. Rini¡¯s eyes were astounded with wonder.

¡°You are so pretty¡¦Will I see you again?¡±

¡°Yes my Small Lady. You shall¡¦¡± she said, smiling. King Endymion smiled as well. ¡°I must go now¡¦We shall meet again,¡± and she faded away. The room turned back to the bedroom, and Rini and the King kept on wondering if the angel would ever come back, but she didn¡¯t, and not even in their dream.

**On heaven**

¡°Serena¡¦You have done something that no one has ever done before,¡± said the Lord. ¡°You have shown true pureness in giving up your afterlife for the life of your daughter, and with that, I grant you one wish.¡±

Serena knew what she wanted.

**Five days later**

King Endymion and Princess Small Lady Serenity held hands as they walked through the gardens of the palace on the warm summer day. They came across a pond, where a woman in white was, she had long, flowing blonde hair, and was looking at the lake. She spoke, ¡°I tell you a tale my little one, there is a castle on a cloud, and in that castle lives a beautiful maiden with long blonde hair, and soft footsteps. And every night, she would give children their blessings, granting peace throughout the Earth¡¦And that woman was an angel¡¦She had white wings of a Pegasus, and a crescent moon above her forehead. She wore a gown of white, and brought merriment into everything that existed into this world¡¦And that angel, my dear Rini, is your mother¡¦She lives in a Castle upon a cloud, with all of the other angels¡¦And she¡¯ll always be there, watching over you,¡± finished the woman, who had turned her head around, and smiled. Rini and her father were in shock. ¡°And to finish that up, now she¡¯s here forever as a human..¡± Rini ran to her, and Serena picked her up, holding her high up. ¡°You¡¯ve gotten so big! My little girl all grown up!¡± she kissed her on the cheek. ¡°Mommy!¡± she laughed, hugging her neck, giggling. Serena walked to her husband, and put Rini down. ¡°There is something I must give your father. Give me a little time, love,¡± she said. Rini nodded. Serena pressed her forehead to his, and let her soft lips touch his. Darien left his hands around her waist naturally, and they were in a deep kiss. And they lived happily ever after.

THE END.

Remember children, angels are the bright of light, call them when you need help, and they shall be there, protecting and guiding you.
