So I'm bored one day. Like, really bored.
Can't remember when it was.
Sometime last summer. Was that it? Yeah, early last summer. So I decide
to
get on my computer and figure I'll most likely be spending the next few
hours uneventfully 'surfin' the net.'
And don't ask me how, because I surely can't remember, but I ended up on
a
Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan site. So, continuing with my aimless
wondering, I delved into this thing called 'Fan Fiction.' So I read some.
Not bad. I followed links, jumped around, until I found this site, which
most of you are probably familiar with, called 'Slayer Pride'.
My first thought? "Who the hell is Faith?"
Now, keep in mind that at this time I hadn't seen a Buffy episode since
way back in the middle of season two, when I still thought that the whole
Buffy and Angel thing was 'kinda sweet.' Boy do I regret stopping
my
viewing of it there.
Anyway, before I did anything else, I just had to figure out who this
Eliza Dushku was. I found her filmography and rushed to the nearest video
place to pick up Bring It On. I had missed it in theaters because I
thought, "Come on, how good can a movie with a bunch of cheerleaders be?"
I watched it . . .
I. Was. Hooked.
Oh my GOD. Have you ever seen anything so gorgeous? Really? So THAT'S
Faith!
I read up on the character immediately. I still hadn't seen any of the
Buffy episodes she was in, so I basically first learned about her
character through all the fan fiction I read. And let me tell you, there
are some *great* writes out there. When I finally did get a hold of some
of her episodes, I felt like I already knew her.
Meanwhile, I started renting some of her other movies, reading up about
her on the internet, finding pictures, you know, basically becoming
obsessed with her. I have seen JaSBSB no less than four times in the
theater, and I'm waiting patiently for it and Soul Survivors to come out
on DVD. Not to mention her upcoming movies.
Will she come back to Buffy or Angel and express her obvious undying love
for our blonde heroin? I don't know, but as long as she keeps making the
movies, I'm happy.
So, that's how it started. Anyway, a little about myself. I'm an 18 year
old girl, born and living in Michigan, US. Currently I'm attending
Michigan Technological University, majoring in Computer Science. Not
very
artsy or anything like that. In fact, I used to despise writing. Still do,
really, unless it involves me toying with the two gorgeous women that are
Buffy and Faith. Which leads to the fact that I am a hardcore Buffy/Faith
shipper. With, of course, a little room for Faith/Cordy, Faith/Kate,
anything Faith related really.
Um....hobbies? Let's see. I play the guitar. And now I consider writing
fan fiction to be a hobby. Hmm.....what else. I think body art (tattoos,
piercing, ect.) is extremely sexy. I have two piercings of my own,
and
three tattoos. One of them would be appropriate to mention here I guess.
It's a Chinese symbol that means . . . guess . . .
Faith.
I didn't really plan on doing that. I knew I wanted something Chinese. And
I was looking through the book and found this symbol that I just loved.
And when I saw that it meant faith (which, as an actual word, the
definition, I believe anyway, is very powerful), I just had to get it. So
now, when people ask me what it means, they're like "Oh, what does that
mean?" and I'm like "It means faith." And they're like "Oh, that's
pretty." And I'm like "Oh yes, well, Faith is pretty."
And of course, it's a little inside joke that, at least, *I* get a kick
out of. Maybe you'll think it's insane, who knows.
Well, if you've made it this far, I'm proud of you, because I bearly did.
I'll let you go now, and get back to that fic reading. There's some great
stuff out there. I don't have a lot out there yet, but what I have done,
I
hope you can enjoy.
