NOTE: If you are soft hearted please do not continue without tissues.

On Thursday, August 10, 2000, Brad went into work and found an APBT loose on his works property. The dog had a horse chain with a padlock for a collar. From her condition we could only figure that she was used as a bait dog in a dog fighting ring. Her right ear was half ripped off, she had an abcess in her mouth and some bone in her mouth was revealed. Not only that but she had a hole in her jaw and you could count every rib and vertibrae on her body. We figure she is easily at least 15 pounds underweight. She was rushed to the vet ASAP to repair her poor damaged body. Despite her condition she still had and has a good attitude.

After a 3 to 4 hour surgery Cleo is looking better then when first found. She has a good 40 stitches between her head and getting spayed. She has to have a tube through her jaw to drain the abcess and that will be removed on Tuesday August 15th. I will keep updating this page as she gets better. Please put Cleo in your prayers!!

UPDATE: August 15th. Cleo got her Drain tube removed today and has noticably put on weight. Her heartworm tests came back negative.

In the next picture you'll notice how her ribs are showing.

UPDATE: On August 22, 2000 Cleo got all of her stitches removed with the exception of the stitches in and around her ear. She has been showing us how much of a counter surfer she is.

UPDATE: On August 26, 2000, She got the rest of her stitches out and will start going to the AARF stand in hopes of finding just the right home.

Cleo would like to thank everyone who has her in their prayers!!! The prayers are helping her tremendously!!! She also says she hopes that you will continue the prayers but not just for her but for those that like her have to pay for the cruelty that some humans impose on dogs.

September 10, 2000, Over the past couple of weeks we've been testing Cleo. She isn't dog aggressive like you would think with what she's been through, she only appears to be a dominate dog. She has revealed her true playful personality and has been playing with toys and running around. She also has been enjoying laying in the bay window.

September 14, 2000, Cleo has found a new home with a local school teacher.

I used to think that I could not go on,
And life was nothing but an awful song
But now I know the meaning of true love
I'm leaning on the everlasting arms

If I can see it.....Then I can do it,
If I just believe it.....There's nothing to it
I believe I can fly.....I believe I can touch the sky
I think about it ev'ry night and day.....Spread my wings and fly away

I believe I can soar.....See me running through that open door I believe I can fly....I believe I can fly.....I believe I can fly
See I was on the verge of breaking down
Sometimes silence can seem so awful loud

There are miracles in life I must achieve
But first I know it starts inside of me
If I can see it.....Then I can do it
If I just believe it.....There's nothing to it

I believe I can fly.....I believe I can touch the sky
I think about it ev'ry night and day.....Spread my wings and fly away
I believe I can soar.....See me running through that open door
          I believe I can fly....I believe I can fly.....I believe I can fly

If I can see it.....Then I can do it
If I just believe it.....There's nothing to it

I believe I can fly.....I believe I can touch the sky
I think about it ev'ry night and day.....Spread my wings and fly away
I believe I can soar.....See me running through that open door
