Before
I came to D.C., I lived for all of my life in a little town called Beavercreek,
Ohio (email me if you are from
there!) right outside of Dayton, Ohio. We lived next to Wright-Patterson
Air Force Base, and it seems as though the whole area revolves around
the base at times. So, airplanes are cool, like this pict of the F-117.
I graduated in 1998 from GW with a degree in international economics, and minors in economics and slavic languages and literatures. Yes, I speak Russian, but also French. See my two pages on Russia and France.
I am in the J.D./ M.B.A. program and plan to practice
corporate law. Check out my links page.
As
for hobbies, I really don't have much time for hobbies, when you consider
that I'm in two grad programs, and then I work and I have to start studying
for the bar. I do make time to stay social and hang out with friends.
When I can, I watch tv in the background. One of my favorite shows
of the moment is TLCs Trading Spaces. I also like First Monday, CSI,
and of course Law and Order.
I also like to travel. I have been all over France,
Amsterdam, Scotland, England, and Wales for extended stays. See my
LinksPage for more on these places.
I am also very into photography. Mostly black and white, because I like to manipulate photos. I may be so much easier now to do so on computers, but I still like doing it the old faschioned way. I thinks there is a much better, more beautiful quality about the hand done manipulations. For instance, I really like infra red, sandwhiching, dodging, color-toning, using different papers, and I really want to try some fun stuff with poloroid transfers when I get the chance. I have won awards for some of them. When I do travel, I take them in color, so I can have them blown up in color if I want, and I can also then play with them in black and white. Some of my recent Great Britian trip are at this link : GB picts Some of them are really big, and I have yet to fix that.
Let's see.... I'm also an avid reader. I don't read much but law these days, but I do squeeze stuff in. Lately, Ive gone back to enjoying the classics of Jane Austen and books like Jane Eyre. But I always like legal and political thriller/action/polic type books. Tom Clancy's are always great.
As for music, nothing can beat Billy Joel. Call me sentimental, I don't care. He is right when he says you dont' have to have talent these days to make it big. (Billy of course does). elton John did some great stuff too. And who can forget U2? As for today, I think Creed's lyrics are great, and I like No Doubt too. (Thats my bubble gum -- everyone has bubble gum). Alica Keys is another one with amazing talent. I really like stuff with acoustic guitar and piano. For relaxing after abad day, Enya is great. And Eric Clapton will allways rock.
I' currently on a geneology kick. So far I can go back on most lines to 1450, and one one line to 1150!! A fable says we can go back on one line to Adam and Eve and we are related to MacBeth. I'd love to see that chart!
I used to do a lot of other stuff that I would still like to do if I ever got time again. Horseback riding, sewing and crafting, camping, writing and all sorts of other stuff I used to do while I had time in high school.
