Release Note : This is the new Bon Jovi, captured live in the round. Jon and the band kick it like you've never seen before. Material from this memorable performance includes acoustic and electric Bon Jovi classics, new material from Keep The Faith, behind scenes- footage plus two bonus tracks.

Review on Movie Mirror(US) : This 85 minute tape is from a MTV special, so if you taped the original show, there's no real need to get this vid. If you didn't catch the special, Keep The Faith, An Evening With Bon Jovi is a great tape for your collection because it offers start-to-finish, intimate, "unplugged" - type show where the guys take some musical risks and depart from the usual playlist.

Filmed at the time when Bon Jovi was making a "comeback" after their hiatus, Keep The Faith shows the bandmembers refreshed and with a renewed commitment, as well as charmingly humble - one scene backstage shows the nevercocky guys all confessing how nervous they are before the show.

None of that nervousness comes through during the performance, a seamless mix of greatest hits - "Lay Your Hands On Me," "Blaze Of Glory," "Livin' On A Prayer," "Wanted Dead Or Alive," and "Bad Medicine," with then-new stuff : "I'll Sleep When I'm Dead," "Keep The Faith," and standard bar band covers "With A Little Help From My Friends," "Love For Sale," (hey wait! This is actually a track on the New Jersey album!!) "Little Bit Of Soul," (hey!!! This is actually from Keep The Faith album) "Brother Louie," "Fever," and a medley of "We Gotta Get Out Of This Place" and "It's My Life."

For me (damn - Alice King), these standards are what make this video. Jon doing his best sex - kitten to "Fever," and the band just rockin' to the songs they grew up with - the songs they played in Jersey bars for all those years. The Bon Jovi songs are also remarkable, because of the lowkey, intimate setting. At one point Jon says that it'll be hard to keep him in his seat - and in fact, he does get up and dance around, but the show feels more like a sneak peek into a rehearsal, recording session, or some other private space. Definitely a change from the band's usual onstage presence. - Alice King - Movie Mirror.
