Court of the Winged Serpent - Entry Hall
City sounds fall away as you slip through the secret entrance into this glorious (albeit dim) mirror of the Dreaming. Here, aspects of the Dreaming mix with Mundanity to produce a fantastic hall with a distinct feel of the Orient coupled with the formality of ancient feudality.

An immense mural lines the room from about four feet off the floor to several feet under the domed ceiling. On one wall, the mural has a distinct early European Renaissance feel. In bold hues is depicting a landscape carpeted by a lush growth of heather and jutting lavender stones dotted with moss. Accented by clouds, the sky supports the proud immensity of a lighting dragon. One foot reaching out delicately to the ground and great leather wings stretching through the sky, the dragon portrays a noble beast of shining scales, ever-vigilant eyes, and an unmasked fury. The opposite wall holds visions of classic Oriental illustrations. Majestic purple mountain ranges, sienna cliffs, and swirling clouds pale in the glory of a coiling oriental dragon drifting through the skies. Wispy tendrils trail after the dragon as it snakes over and through the clouds shedding luck and wisdom over its kingdom.

The long walls lead to a door on either side of the hall. Opposite the door into the human domain, an arch of two dragons forms an entry into the Main Hall.
        --------------------------------------------
Lysina enters from the alleyway closing the door behind.
        Lysina has arrived.
Shii whispers "Hello. I was hoping to find you here."
Lysina closes the door behind her, looking surprised to find somebody in here. "Oh, good morning, Shii. You were?" She approaches the sluagh with a smile.
Shii whispers "I had to leave rather rudely yesterday. And leave you with that silly pooka."
Lysina grins and shrugs. "I know him, met him before. We don't get along too well. May I invite you to the lounge, maybe you would like refreshments?"
Shii whispers "That would be nice. You just have to know how to talk to Shoo. He's been real nice to me."
Lysina smiles sheepishly. "Maybe you can teach me. But now, let's go to the Lounge." She leads the way.
Lysina proceeds further into the oriental atmosphere through the doorway to the main hall.
        Lysina has left.

You proceed further into the oriental atmosphere through the doorway to the main hall.
        --------------------------------------------
Court of the Winged Serpent - Main Hall(#5268RJh)

A much larger hall opens up in front of you as you step out of the Entry Hall. Huge marble pillars rise up in four symmetric spots along the hall, each chiseled with the image of a large dragon winding its way upward. The floor is patterned in highly polished jade, varying shades of green forming mosiaced swirls. In the center, the jade gives way to obsidian, the black tiles forming the shape of a mighty Pan Lung dragon. The eyes of the dragon seem to glow cobalt blue with Glamour.

To the left, you can see a hint of sunlight coming through the door from the lounge area. The guest hall is to the right, doors numbered in the dormitory style. Ahead, you see the door to the audience chamber, flanked by twin granite statues of troll warriors. They are clearly cold stone, and yet are so detailed that you feel they might come to life at any moment. Through the doorway, you can see make out several row of benches.

You open the door further to enter the lounge, welcoming the sunlight there.

The mechanical arm waves and greets you, "Welcome, have a seat and enjoy yourself. Order at your leisure."
        --------------------------------------------
Lysina enters the lounge from the main hall.
        Lysina has arrived.
Lysina smiles and walks over to the bar. "What may I get you, Shii?"
Shii whispers "Well for example Shoo doesn't always use someones propper name. Using the wrong name could be his lie. For example if he told our friends he was meeting 'his pretty china girl", he meens me. But there are three lies there. I not pretty, chinesse or his."
Lysina shrugs and nods. "I know pooka who can tell names with dignities and put their lies elsewhere. It's just this thing about Logan and this hold and everything. Moselle doesn't mind, but it irks me a bit." She gets herself a soda.
Shii whispers "Well this hold has been really messed up. I don't know everything about Logan, that was before my time. But between then and now, it was going to go the a sihde of house Liam. But he was recalled to Mexico. I was going to work for him. Then he either forgot to tell the Countess about me or she forgot to find me after he left."
Lysina shakes her head and takes a seat. "Now that's sad. So you're unaffiliated?"
Shii sits donw. Shii whispers "Yes, I might just stay that way.
Lysina nods. "Freedom is a good thing. I wouldn't have thought I would swear fealty to anyone, it just happened as part of the story. How long have you been here in Caer York now?"
Shii whispers "I'm a native to the city but, the fae part is new."
Lysina smiles and nods. "Same for me, actually. I didn't have my Chrysalis here, though, and just recently returned. I'm still re-discovering a lot."
Shii whispers "How long ago was your Chrysalis?"
Lysina wags her head. "7 years ago now, I was a childling then."
Shii whispers "Mine is less than a year."
Lysina smiles and nods. "You're still young, aren't you? And though I've had my Chrysalis years ago, I'm still very new to some things. Never stayed long at one place, and certainly in such a big city. Caer Blacksalt and Caer Goldenbridge is where I spent most of my time."
        Shii whispers "Where are those?"
Lysina smiles. "Out in the west. Caer Goldenbridge is in the Kingdom of Pacifica, and Caer Blacksalt is where I had my Chrysalis, in the Kingdom of Burning Sands."
Shii whispers "I quess I need a geography lesson. Which states?"
ShoolyB enters the lounge from the main hall.
        ShoolyB has arrived.
ShoolyB is escorted in and waits quietly for acknowledge.
Shii looks up as Shoo enters.
ShoolyB nods and smiles to Shii.
Lysina grins at Shii. "Oh yes, geography and history, I guess. Caer Goldenbridge is in California, San Francisco to be precise. Caer Blacksalt is in Arizona."
Lysina stands as she hears the door, and then nods with a smile. "Good morning. What brings you the pleasure of your visit?"
ShoolyB says "Evenin, Milady. I just had no plans for the play."
ShoolyB says "Just let me interrupt you two, though..."
Lysina nods to Shooly. "We were just chatting about our past, but if you've come to talk about your play, sure. Please take a seat. We offered to help, and that we will."
Shii looking down whispers "Well yes."
ShoolyB nods and finds a seat.
Lysina smiles at the sluagh. She mutters to Shii, "... you... about the... and... interested,... years... me... the..." She winks.
You sense Lysina smiles at the sluagh. "I could teach you some about the western states and kingdoms if you're interested, spent my last years there. And you tell me about the city secrets?" She winks.
ShoolyB says "I mentioned the grand illusion?"
The morning sun breaks over the hills, illuminating the new day.
Shii whispers "Shoo, about the TAPE and GEORGE. Which cLAWS AND TEETH did you break?"
Lysina nods to Shooly. "You mentioned it, but I didn't understand it. What exactly is it?"
Shii whispers "Maybe, but I don't know that much about Cear York." looking rather sad about the situation. "I'm a computer geek."
ShoolyB says "Well, I thought we could make the fae parts really obvious and stage the play there."
ShoolyB shakes his head warningly to Shii.
Lysina smiles to Shii. "Ah, then you can tell me about that. I know next to nothing." She returns her attention to Shooly. "Okay. And where exactly is that place?"
ShoolyB shrugs. "I know the address, but I can't show you."
ShoolyB says "I think it's far from here, though."
Lysina nods again, taking a sip of her soda. "It really shouldn't be very far from here, if you want our help. I don't think now would be a good time to show me, but maybe later today? And I would really like to have a card of the place or so."
        ShoolyB nods.
Shii whispers "What this about a play?"
ShoolyB says "I'll send a letter bomb."
        ShoolyB smiles mischievously.
Lysina frowns a bit, then smiles sourly. "Very funny." She turns to Shii. "Better let him explain that."
        Shii smiles back.
ShoolyB turns to Shii. "As a good will gesture between our groups, the d
ShoolyB says "the dojo group decided t' re-enact the first troll war in America.""
ShoolyB smiles to Lys. "Not really. It's not just a drama, after all."
Shii waits for moment looking for the lie then whispers anyway "That would be interesting who did the trolls fight?"
ShoolyB shrugs. "I dunno. "Indian spirits were too scared."
ShoolyB repeats, for Lys' peace of mind. "It's not just a drama, after all."
Lysina quirks a brow. "I hadn't heard the troll part. Can I read the script one day?"
        Shii whispers "Indian spirits?"
ShoolyB nods. "Unless you host the play. Only good diplomacy, huh?"
Shii begins to fiddle with the laces on her boot. "Who else could tell me about this play. Sounds like a long story." she whispers.
Lysina smiles rather sweetly. "If we host the play then considerable efforts will go into it and as an eshu I couldn't be part to host a bad story. I'd really want to see the script first before we arrange things. Are you referring to Nunnehi when you talk about Indian spirits?"
ShoolyB says "Is that the word for 'em?"
        Shii whispers "NunneWHO?"
Lysina looks from Shooly to Shii, and then nods with a shrug. "Of course it is. You can't just call them spirits. They have an old and strong heritage in the west."
        ShoolyB says "Oh."
        ShoolyB muses, "Nunehi..."
ShoolyB stands. "Well... Don't tell me about 'em when I bring the script?"
Lysina nods to Shooly. "I can do that. You're leaving again?"
ShoolyB shrugs. "Diplomatic dutys, you know..."
Shii whispers "I'll see you latter Shoo? Remember I want to know about the TEETH."
Lysina waves to Shooly. "Okay, I will see you later then, with the script and the address of the place where you want to stage it, alright?"
ShoolyB says "regards Shii a moment... then shrugs... nods to Lys."
ShoolyB, hands clasped behind back, waits for... somehing.
Shii looks at shoo, wondering what he is waiting for.
Lysina stands, leaning against the table, arching her brows. "Would you need an escort out?"
Shii gets up and walks over to Shoo.
ShoolyB smiles at Lys apparant official dismissal at her standing. "I can't find my own way. Thank you, Milady."
Shii whispers "I'll see you at the RHYTHM or NOAH latter?"
ShoolyB nods to Shii as he turns to go.
        Shii sits back down.
Lysina nods to Shooly, shaking her head, slightly puzzled, then gets herself another soda.
ShoolyB opens the door and heads out of the lounge.
        ShoolyB has left.
Shii whispers "Sorry to be confusing, I spend entirly too much time with pookas. It is easy to sound like one if you do." At this she smiles.
Shii whispers "So we were talking about you, right?"
Lysina shakes her head. "I won't claim I understood what you were talking about, but that's okay. Sounded like some secret language."
Lysina arches her brows. "Were we? Ah well, what again was it? I've lost the thread of conversation, I fear."
Shii smiles, whispers "That's a scary thought, trying to invent a secret langauge with pooka. It would be maddening. You were telling me where you have been since your Chryalis."
Lysina smiles and nods. "Yes, Arizona, California, a little bit of Nevada. Las Vegas has quite the glamour, I tell you."
Shii whispers "Were you sained in the same place as your Chrysalis, or on the road so to speak?"
Lysina smiles again. "My saining was at Caer Blacksalt. I stayed there for a while, only been travelling since after the saining."
Shii whispers "Oh. So while you were a fledge, that is the right word?, you stayed in one place? Did you have a mentor or something there?"
Lysina nods eagerly. "A most wonderful mentor, a fellow eshu who taught me quite some lore. What about you?"
Shii looks down at the floor. "It's a long story."
Lysina leans back with a smile. "I have all the time for stories, all the time."
Shii whispers "Its not common knowledge and rather personal. Would you keep it to yourself? Or if you feel you have to tell it to someone let me know first?"
Lysina smiles at the sluagh and offers her hand. "I swear that I won't tell anyone without your permission."
Shii whispers "Well, a boggan who works for my family doctor found me before I changed. She was going to teach me, get me ready to intruduce to everyone and all. But we had a falling out. So I told her that she wasn't the only show in town. So I've just been on my own since, sorta."
Lysina blinks at the information. "But that's sad! Aren't you feeling lonely? Who taught you all our ways?"
Shii whispers "I watch people. Sure I get lonely, but pooka are good for that. I've tried to hook up with people but things don't ever happen. First Samma, then Valance, Rizzen, Shahar, and lastly Sceadu. Something went wrong with each, so I quess it's not supposed to be."
Shii smiles and whispers "I actually find the pooka here more reliable than anyone else."
Shii whispers "I forgot Carad, but he bailed on alot of people including his trueheart."
Lysina slowly nods, then smiles disarmingly. "Well, what about me? I think I'm better than a pooka."
Shii whispers "I don't know you very well."
Shii whispers "I guess I'm gun shy now."
Lysina shrugs with another of her smiles that never seem to leave her face. "Well, then get to know me better? I'm easy-going, if you are not rude to my liege."
Shii whispers "I am never rude, or at least I try not to be. I don't want you get the wrong idea about everyone. Rizzen was called away by his liege. Valace and I never seemed to be in the same place, and then I was out on the streets. That when I meet Rizzen and Shahar. Shahar is sweet, but had man trouble and the road was calling to her. She is an eshu."
Lysina looks worried for a moment. "Yes, I understand the problem. I won't stay here forever. My oath of fealty is temporary only, once I get the urge, I will leave again."
Shii whispers "Besides you might not like me."
Lysina shrugs. "I still have time to find that out, haven't I? You really should try to be more open. Look, I even try to be friendly to Shooly and Thessaly."
Shii whispers "True, just warning you. Samma didn't like me. I just don't want to repeat that problem. So I warn everyone, I'm not as nice as I look."
Lysina looks at her soda, smiling wistfully. "Those that look nicest could be most evil. Those that look evil, are nice. And so on. I don't judge people on their looks. I just try to be friendly and find friends of my own." She grins. "A sluagh contact would always come in handy."
Shii whispers "Just as long as you don't mind. Could I ask you about sainings? They take place when, a year and a day after someones Chrysalis or something? What is involved?"
Lysina leans back some in her seat and then starts talking about her saining, relating the full story. "I can ask around if that's how sainings go in general."
Shii whispers "I'm just sorta concerned because I don't have a mentor."
Lysina nods. "I can see that. Hm, maybe you could find a sluagh mentor? Do you know a lot of sluagh?"
Shii whispers "Not really, Sceadu was a sluagh grump, but he disappered in September. Amyl is a childling like me. And there is Nora, who I don't really know."
Lysina rubs her chin. "I could ask the Baroness? She could adopt you into her household."
Shii whispers "I don't know. Rizzen offered that, called me his little sister. But duty called. Stevie said he would ask his mom. Stevie is a pooka childling and Bea's heir."
Lysina slowly nods. "Well, what you prefer. I could ask her, really. After all I'm the Herald around here." She grins.
Shii whispers "You could ask. I'll keep my options open. Don't know why things fall apart but I plan to have a backup plan in case they do again."
Lysina smiles faintly and nods. "I will be talking to her later, and will be sure to ask her."
Shii whispers "Thank you. Would it be ok to crash here sometimes. I know my way around."
Lysina smiles and nods. "Oh, certainly, our hold is open to everyone. I'd be pleased to welcome you again, Shii."
Shii smiles "You have been very kind."
        Time: Tue Oct 12 10:01:02 1999 - Light - Mid Morning
Lysina bows her head. "I think I'm a kind person. Maybe you can take me through the sewers one day." She winks.
Shii whispers "There's not much down there, besides I've heard that Bronx likes to call the place his own. Doesn't mind us crawlers though. I show if you really want."
Lysina smiles. "One day maybe. There's no hurry, really."
Shii whispers "Well I should be checking on my computer I had it running some jobs. See you latter? Oh here." Shii gets a worn card out of her pocket. It has the e-mail address on it and a pager number.
Lysina takes the card. "Whee, that's an email adress, isn't it? You have to tell me more about that later."
Shii whispers "Well if you ever need a cracker, have been know to hack on the dark side. Real good with bank records and police reports. If you know what I mean."
Lysina blinks at the information then slowly nods. "Yeah, I see what you mean. Interesting. We really will have to talk again."
Shii whispers "See you latter. Bye."
        Lysina waves amiably. "Farewell, Shii."
You open the door and head out of the lounge.
