SCHOOL BASED JOBS

 

Student Assistant(SA)- Being an SA is a cool job because you get to work in the school office, library, etc. You have access to records, files, etc. In short, you have an inside information on  classified information like who’s going to teach this class, this section, etc.

 

Research Assistant(RA) - A research assistant usually works fro a particular person, a Dean, a teacher etc. You do research work for them. Being an RA gives you the chance to earn money at the same time have the chance to be close to a particular teacher.

GOVERNMENT SPONSORED JOB PROGRAMS

 

Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES)

 

The SPES is mandated under Republic Act No. 7323 otherwise known as “An act to help poor but deserving students pursue their education by encouraging their employment  during summer and Christmas vacations through incentives granted to Employers. Allowing them to pay  only 60% of the salaries while the remaining 40% is shouldered by the government.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. 15-25 years old
2. Enrolled during the present school year or dropout who intends to continue his education
3. Garnered a passing grade during their last term of enrollment.


Work Appreciation Program (WAP)

 

 

The WAP is one of the components of the year round President’s Youth Work Program, Kabataan 2000 implemented by the Department of Labor and Employment. It is intended to provide youth participants meaningful and productive activities. The WAP is undertaken on nationwide scale. The program is open to all unemployed youth between 18-25 years old.

 

OBJECTIVES
The WAP’s main objective is to provide the youth  the opportunities to be able to appreciate work and develop proper work ethics by exposing  them to actual work situations. In this regard, they will be given opportunities to gain experiences in working  environments provided by the sponsoring companies. The youth would be introduced to the procedures, standards, machines, tools and work environment relevant to performance of specific work.
