Weekend violence claims four lives in Indonesia's Aceh province
Clashes between Indonesian troops and separatist rebels in Aceh province at the
weekend, have left four people dead, including two civilians.
The Indonesian military says two rebels of the Free Aceh Movement, or GAM, were
shot dead in separate clashes in Bireuen and East Aceh district.
A military spokesman says troops and rebels were also involved in another exchange
in East Aceh district, but there were no casualties.
Two rebels were captured in the clash in Bireun while another rebel was arrested in a
raid on a suspected GAM hideout in Mutiara Timur subdistrict.
