Funeral Mass for James Gura, 85, a longtime Willowick resident, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Magdalene Church, 460 E. 321st St., Willowick.

James Gura Funeral Mass for James Gura, 85, a longtime Willowick resident, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Magdalene Church, 460 E. 321st St., Willowick. Mr. Gura died April 1, 2007, in Mentor. Born April 16, 1921, in Scranton, Pa., he lived in Willowick for 50 years before moving to Summerville at Mentor three years ago. He was a lifelong member of Knights of Columbus #4498. He was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Church for 50 years and a member of the Morning Glory Choir of St. Mary Magdalene. He enjoyed gardening, was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and loved spending time with his family. Mr. Gura retired after 30 years with Marquette Metal Products, where he was chief accountant. Survivors are his loving wife of 59 years, Ruth; daughters, Kathleen (Richard) Arthur and Virginia Jeschelnig; grandchildren, Laurel (Matthew) Augustine, Timothy (Valerie) Arthur, Richard (fiancee, Rachel Tropman), Erich and James Jeschelnig; great-granddaughter, Sarah Margaret Augustine; and brother, Thomas Gura. His parents, Michael and Elizabeth; brothers, Frank, Michael and John; and sisters, Ann Kohler and Jane Podracky, are deceased. Friends may call 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Jack Monreal Funeral Home, E. 320th and Vine St., Willowick. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
