Services for Roland Szafraniec, 72, of Willowick,
a retired maintenance man, will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Magdalene Church, 460
East 321 St., Willowick.
Mr. Szafraniec died July 25, 2000, at LakeWest Hospital in Willoughby.
Born July 23, 1928, in Dover Center, he lived in Cleveland before moving to Willowick 44
years ago.
He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, was Past Grand Commander of Mahdi Caravan 142,
Past Grand Knight of Magnificant Council 4498 and was a fourth degree Knight of Columbus.
Mr. Szafraniec was employed by Macco Chemical Company of Wickliffe for 46 years.
Survivors are his wife, Jean Marie (Flaesgarten); children, Corrine (Al) Nowacki, Roland
(Cynthia), Joanne, and Dale (Terri); grandchildren, Lisa, Ryan, Nicole, Andrew, Ashley and
Dale; brother, Edmond Szafraniec; and sister, Hermina Basha.
His grandchildren, Matthew, Alan and Allison; and brother, Raymond, are deceased.
