Markus Naslund Page
Markus Naslund led the team in scoring this past year, posting career bests in points (90) and assists (50). Naslund came off a serious injury last season to finish second in league scoring. Naslund is known for his deadly wrist shot, is a great team captain, and was part of the Swedish Olympic Team this past Olympics. His prowess for goal-scoring and playmaking make Markus one of the premier players of the last few years. He was selected 16th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 1991 Entry Draft. Pittsburgh then traded him to Vancouver a few years later in what could possibly be one of the most lop-sided trades ever; Markus for Alex Stojanov, late in teh 1995-96 season. Markus Naslund competed in the World Junior Championships earlier in his career, as well as two all-star games (1999 and 2002). Markus is a well-respected player in the organization, as well as a feared opponent for other teams.
