Cherry Creek School
Hi,
My husband and I have just escaped from this place (by the way Kidschool is
now changing to Cherry Creek School - same management just different name).
I was the first western teacher employed there and am an experienced English
teacher so I was quite prepared for hard work but not for what went on
there:
(a) The contract was altered after we signed it;
(b) We were paid hald pay for our first month when we were being
    supposedly trained (none of this occurred);
(c) They fired another teacher after he arrived because they simply
    didn't like him and refused to pay him.  He was only given his
    return airfare ticket because he had kept it at the embassy;
(d) We were not paid for many hours of compulsory overtime;
(e) In addition we found out two months before our contract was due to
    be finalised that they intended to fire us a month beforehand so as
    to avoid paying our bonuses.
Add to all of this all of your minor problems (such as the continual lying
by the supervisor), an appalling curriculum and a lack of resources (not
even enough whiteboard markers!), and you begin to see this school has some
major problems.
To be very blunt about this, our whole experience was very negative.  We
would rather not be named but understand if this is necessary. We are not
nervous or paranoid people by nature but this experience has led us to find
it difficult to adjust back to our normal lives.  We definitely don't want
anyone else to experience this situation and are going to speak to our local
member of parliament about this school.
Anyway, enough said - I'm sure you get the picture.
Thanks!
