I LOVE YOU
Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,
Greetings on the Feast of All Saints! I think I have enough time to send
you my prayer this morning. The commentary will have to be short as I
must leave for Summerside shortly. As you know I am going to Mabou, Nova
Scotia, to give a weekend retreat. I am going with Ceofred Richard who
has been my driver to all these places I visited already.
My half hour was spent with Jesus who spoke to me saying, "Melvin, my
brother and sharer of my priesthood, I love you. On this Friday, we are
on the way to the Garden of Gethsemane where I will suffer my agony. I
wish to talk to you and to all my friends about the power of the Cross
to help you. There are millions of saints in heaven. My question is: Why
are all these holy people who lived on earth saints today? They are
saints in heaven because of my suffering and death on the cross. My
sacrifice has won for them the graces they needed to conform their lives
to mine. If I had not died on the cross, they would not be saints today.
What is important for your life is that each one of you cooperate with
the graces I give you. These saints cooperated daily and so they are in
heaven today. They united themselves with me and allowed me to triumph
in them. They all persevered in their struggle and sufferings to follow
my way and to avoid evil. They fought the good fight and were never
afraid to be counted as Christians. Their love of me and their fellow
human beings was never extinguished even though they were tried severely
at times. They made use of all the help which my Church gave them. They
are truly my brothers and sisters. May you all come to join them one
day. I love you."
Jesus tells us that our destiny is to be united with Him forever in
heaven. Many have gone before us and they are happy with the Father,
Jesus, the Son, the Holy Spirit, Mary and all the angels and saints.
Jesus did not die on the cross in vain for many have already been saved.
He wants to save us too by the power of His Cross. Let us unite
ourselves to Him and follow Him everyday. We will have our crosses to
bear but let us carry them with Jesus. Let us begin to live now as we
would in heaven.
May the Lord bring us all close to Him and let us love Him with all our
heart.
