I  WILL  PROTECT  YOU

        Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,

Greetings in the Lord! I woke up this morning with the noise of rolling
thunder. We also had plenty of rain during the night. It is not as
sticky as
yesterday afternoon although it had cooled off in the evening. I
attended
the prayer meeting at the Church in Palmer Road last evening. A number
of
people shared about their faith in the real presence of Jesus in the
Holy
Eucharist and how they love to come and pray before the tabernacle.

In my half hour of prayer this morning, Jesus spoke to me in these
words,
"Melvin, my brother, I love you. Every morning I wait for this visit
from
you. When you spend time with me in contemplative prayer our
relationship
deepens and our friendship grows. It is my heart's desire to have this
close
bond with all my friends. The only thing that can break this intimate
bond
is sin, the deliberate offense against God. Sin destroys love in the
heart
of the sinner. The person who sins turns his back against me and
refuses to
walk with me. He says "yes" to the evil one in direct opposition to me,
His
Saviour. To sin is the greatest tragedy that can happen to a person. It
closes one's heart to my love. My suffering and death on the cross
shows you
the seriousness of sin. I paid a heavy price for your sins. You do not
have
to remain in sin, there is a way out. The way is repentance. My people,
repent of all your sins, especially by receiving the Sacrament of
Penance or
Reconciliation. I will absolve all your sins and I will restore you to
friendship with me. Those sins I absolve in confession will never be
remembered again. Remain close to me and I will protect you. I bless
you
all."

Jesus is so patient with us. He always waits that we take that step
towards
Him. He especially wants us to spend time with Him in contemplative
prayer
in order to have a lively relationship with Him. Sin is what can
destroy
that friendship with Jesus. Serious sin separates us from God and
brings
darkness to our souls. If we should ever fall into mortal sin, we
should
repent with great sorrow for our offense against God and beg Him to
pardon
us. He is always ready to take our sins away if we are truly repentant.
He
will then restore us to friendship with Him. Do not think that you
cannot
sin. We are all capable of the worst sins and only the grace of God can
help
us avoid them. Let us remain humble for pride leads to sin.

Let us thank the Lord every day for His grace and His love. Let us
remain
close to Him.

 Father Melvin

P.S. Rita, welcome home after another pilgrimage. I hope you are
rested
after these days in the heat. God bless you.
