REPENT  AND  COME  FOLLOW  ME

Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,
Greetings on this cold Friday! We had a windy day yesterday but the sun
was shining. I went for a walk last evening after the wind had died
down. Today it will be sunny with a few clouds floating around. I will
soon leave for Bloomfield Church for the celebration of the Holy
Eucharist at 9:30. The church is about 20 minutes from where I stay. I
should be back home about noon and I will return to Bloomfield late
tomorrow afternoon for the weekend.

In my prayer early this morning, I was with Jesus as He carried His
Cross. He spoke to me saying, "Melvin, my brother, come and help me to
carry my cross. I am going along this street in Jerusalem dragging my
heavy cross. I have no more strength. If I carry the cross any further,
I will faint for I am very weak. The soldiers have beaten me and this
crown of thorns on my head is very painful. Come and walk behind me and
help me with the cross. It is very heavy with all the sins of world. I
am on the way to Calvary to be nailed to this wood and to die for each
one of you. It is out of love for you that I consented to suffer and die
so that you may be redeemed. I want you all to be the beloved children
of the Father. My shoulder is giving me great pain. There is a deep
wound caused by the heavy cross. My dear brothers and sisters, look at
me so disfigured and covered in blood from the scourging and the crown
of thorns embedded in my head. I am exhausted from this heavy load and
the loss of blood. I am on my way to die in order to take away your
sins. See how terrible your sins are that they cause me so much pain and
even death. I am paying the price for your sins. Repent now and come
follow me. I keep you all in my heart. I bless you."

Great sorrow filled my heart at seeing Jesus in such suffering as He
carried His cross through the streets of Jerusalem. As we know He fell
three times on His way to Calvary. He was so weak from the loss of blood
and from the weight of the cross. Jesus asked me to help Him carry His
cross. In this way I could cooperate with Jesus to atone for my own sins
and the sins of the world. What a terrible sight Jesus was! Blood
streaked down His face from the wounds in His head. His whole body was
bleeding from the cuts made by the whips during the scourging. He
complained about the wound on His shoulder made by the cross. He knew
that He was going to Calvary to die for all of us. He asks us today to
repent of all our sins and to follow Him. What is our response? Are we
ready to change our lives and have a strong relationship with Jesus who
suffered and died for us?

Wayne, who has been suffering very much this past week, had a better day
yesterday. He was stronger and was filled with great peace. He thanks
you all for your prayers.

May the Passion of Our Lord fill us with love for Him. May we repent of
all our sins and cooperate with all the graces He gives us.

Father Melvin
