PRAY  AND  LIVE  AS  CHRISTIANS

Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,
Good morning on this bright sunny day! There are just a few clouds and
hardly any wind. I was at Tignish Parish last evening for confessions
once more. The Lord, I am sure, is very happy with all those who
received the sacrament of confession during the past week.

I was with Jesus and the Father this morning in prayer. Jesus spoke to
me saying, "Melvin, my friend, I love you. Let us go today to visit Our
Father in heaven." I consented with all my heart and Jesus took me to
the huge white staircase. We climbed up to His throne and I knelt before
the Father in adoration. He spoke to us saying, "Welcome Jesus and
Melvin. Come and sit near me. Jesus, My Son, the anniversary of your
birth is near. I thank you for becoming man and showing the people the
way to follow. Melvin, my son, always remain close to Jesus. I call you
all, my sons and daughters, to walk daily with Jesus, your Redeemer and
My Son. Open your heart to Him in prayer every day. His favourite prayer
is contemplative prayer in which you will develop a close and intimate
friendship with Him. Melvin, many people today are contemplating
according to the way Jesus inspired you to write. You taught many to
follow this method. I assure you that those who follow contemplative
prayer will grow close to Jesus and myself. We will live in their hearts
and they will be our friends. The more people contemplate, the more the
world will be transformed and live in union with Jesus and me. Pray, my
dear children, that during this season of Advent and the season of
Christmas that will follow, many will accept Jesus as their Redeemer,
repent of their sins and live as Christians. I bless you all."

The Father calls us again to prayer. He knows that prayer is as
important for us as the air we breathe. Without prayer we cannot be true
Christians. He invites us to make use of contemplative prayer, the
prayer so much loved by Jesus. This prayer brings us close to Jesus, and
the Father says that He and Jesus will come and live in our hearts. How
the world would change if all the people would spend time with the Lord
each day! It is the time now to turn to the Lord, repent of all our sins
and to have a strong and intimate relationship with Jesus.

This evening I will be at the prayer meeting at Palmer Road. The seminar
in the Life of the Spirit is over so we will have our regular prayer
meeting from now on. I have been invited to Detroit, Michigan, to give a
retreat on January 11 and 12, 2003. I am looking forward to seeing many
of you there who have been receiving these messages and who live in the
area. Wayne is slowly getting stronger but there is not much change in
Michelle's condition. Please continue to pray for both of them.

May our life reflect the fact that we are Christians filled with love
for Jesus whose birth we will celebrate in two weeks time.
