FATHER,  I  CONFORM  MY  WILL  TO  YOURS

Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,
Good morning on this sunny Friday! There are some clouds but the sun is
shining.

We had our Small Christian Community meeting last evening. We prayed and
shared on the readings of next Sunday. Today I have to go to Summerside
to bring my papers for a new passport. It is more complicated today to
get a passport than in the past.

I spent my prayer time this morning with Jesus. He spoke to me saying,
"Melvin, come near to me. The Apostles are all sleeping. They cannot
wait one hour with me. I am here in the Garden of Gethsemane in great
suffering. Come and pray as I suffer my agony before I die. Heavenly
Father let this cup of my suffering pass me by. I am filled with fear
and I shutter at what is in store for me. My heart is breaking at the
thought of my Passion with all its suffering. Yet I know it was for this
hour that I was born. The people have great need of a Saviour to atone
for their many sins. They are under the grip of the evil one and I am
the one sent to break his power and to free them all. Through my
sacrifice their sins will be wiped away and they will be restored to
friendship with you, Father. They will be your children and they will
become members of your Kingdom. They need only to believe in me and
accept me as the Saviour and follow my teachings as my Church teaches
them. Father, I submit to you; not my will but yours be done. I embrace
my cross because I love you and I love all my brothers and sisters in
the world. I have sweated blood in the severity of my agony for my human
nature shutters at the pain and the suffering that will lead to the
cross, but Father, I conform my will to yours. Amen."

What a profound experience it was for me this morning to be with Jesus
in His Agony in the Garden of Gethsemane! How troubled He was as He saw
the terrible suffering in store for Him! His human nature wanted Him to
run away as He cried to His Father to let "this cup" pass Him by. Yet we
know that Jesus accepted to be the Saviour of us all. He took His cross
and carried it to Calvary and died on it in great torments. Let us spend
time with Him today as we remember His cruel Passion to save us. Our
sins have caused Him great pain, let us repent of them with all our
hearts.

Let us show Jesus that we love Him and let us conform our wills to His.
