I  WILL  WASH  YOU  CLEAN  OF  SIN

Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,
Greetings and best wishes in the Lord! We have a dull day and it looks
like rain. I hope the sun will come out perhaps this afternoon.

I attended the prayer meeting last evening at Palmer Road Church. A
large crowd was present and it was filled with thanks and praise. Some
were prayed with at the end and there was a wonderful healing. The Lord
is good.

In my prayer this morning, I was with Jesus who spoke to me saying,
"Melvin, I love you. Rejoice that you are a Christian and that I live in
your heart. Sing with joy for the intimate relationship that exists
between us. I have a close relationship with many of you. You are my
friends if you love me and spend time with me in prayer. Today take upon
yourself my yoke. It is not heavy and burdensome but light and easy. The
yoke refers to the obligations of friendship. These obligations will
bring you daily growth in the spiritual life through prayer and action.
Each day make time for me by being alone with me. Listen to what I have
to say to you in the depth of your heart where I have made my home.
Empty yourself of all that is not of me and focus completely and
exclusively on me. In this way our hearts will beat in unison. To serve
me in others is just as important as prayer. In helping and visiting the
sick, the lonely, the elderly and anyone who suffers, you show your love
for me. I have identified myself with anyone who suffers. Anything you
do for the least of these, you do to me. In putting on this yoke of mine
you will be showing me genuine love and I will strengthen you and heal
you of all your weaknesses. I will wash you clean of sin in my blood.
You will be mine. I love you."

What joy to know that the Lord lives in our hearts and that we have a
close and intimate relationship with Him! Jesus calls us His friends if
we take time for Him. He speaks today about the yoke mentioned in the
Bible. The yoke concerns the obligations we have as Christians. We
cannot be Christians if we do not pray. Prayer as we know is based on
faith. Without faith we cannot begin to pray. Prayer is like a two way
highway. We offer our thanks and praise to the Lord and ask Him for His
help. Then we listen to the Lord in the depth of our hearts to whatever
He wants to tell us. We have to be opened to listen to Him in the
silence of our hearts. It is in focusing on Him and the emptying of our
minds of all distractions that we will be completely present to Him and
we will hear His voice. It is important to come to the Lord in prayer
every day. Jesus also mentions our obligation to love the people
especially those who suffer. We cannot love Jesus unless we love all our
brothers and sisters. We have to see Jesus in each person. How can we
say we love Jesus, if we do not love Him in the person we meet,
especially the one who suffer? Jesus tells us that His yoke is light.
Let us carry it proudly as His friends.

May the Lord bless you and may we grow in His friendship every day.
