Theme: WILL YOU BE A LIGHT TO THE WORLD?
Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,
Greetings on this partially cloudy Monday! We are supposed to get some snow
this afternoon but just a small amount. My visitors from the Province of
Quebec arrived last night after a long trip and they are tired. They will
be with me for most of the week. They will come with me to the Manor this
afternoon where I will celebrate the Holy Eucharist with the residents and
some of the staff.
In my prayer this morning, I was with Jesus and Our Father. Jesus began by
saying, "Melvin, my brother, I love you. Let us go this morning to visit
Our Father in heaven." I gladly said "yes" and Jesus took me to His Throne.
I knelt in adoration before God Our Father. He spoke to us saying, "Welcome
Jesus and Melvin and come and sit near me. Jesus, my beloved Son, I love
you and thank you for your eternal sacrifice for the salvation of all the
people. Melvin, my son and Jesus' friend, I bless you again as I blessed
you last evening. Remain united always to Jesus, your Lord and brother. My
dear children, I am preparing great things during these last days. My arm
is raised against the people who do not want to repent of their sins but
continue to offend me grievously. If they repent, I will relent and show
them mercy. You who believe and love me, do not fear for I will protect you.
You will be my people and I will be your God. Everything you ask of me in
the name of Jesus, I will give it to you. You are the joy of my heart. Forgive
all who hurt you as Jesus forgave you all your sins. Be a good example to
all those you meet. Jesus needs you to make Him known and loved. Will you
be a light to the world by following Jesus? I bless you."
Jesus said that He was the light of the world. He came to chase away the
darkness in our hearts. Those who live with Jesus in their hearts become
also lights reflecting the light of Jesus. The Father wants that our faith
and love be visible on our faces by having a smile for every person and by
sharing our joy and peace with them. We should not hide our light under a
basket says the Bible but it should be seen by everybody so that they can
give thanks to the Lord. Fear often causes us to hold back and hide. The
Father tells us not to be afraid but to rely on His protection. Jesus has
paid the price for our sins by dying for us on the cross. Let us now repent
and forgive all those who have sinned against us. Jesus will then live in
our hearts.
What does it mean to be a light? It means that we are not afraid to be called
a follower of Jesus and to be His witness wherever we are. It also means
that we will not compromise our faith for any reason or agree to any action
that is against the moral law. We will love every person and be ready to
forgive. A Christian will pray regularly and go to Church as often as possible
at the least on Sundays. Let us reflect today on the Father's question to
us and try to answer it as concrete as possible in the circumstances of our
everyday life.
May the words of the Father penetrate our hearts and may He give us the strength
to follow Him.
