BE MY HANDS TO HELP THOSE WHO SUFFER

Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,

Good morning! Another super day is on our way for us here in Prince
Edward
Island. The sun is bright early this morning and there is hardly any
wind.
Thank you, Lord, for this beautiful day. I celebrated the Holy
Eucharist
last evening at Palmer Road Church and today I am going to Kensington
for
the second preparation meeting for our Cursillo week- end. I hope to be
at
the wake this evening and at the funeral tomorrow of my friend Wilbert.
Father Emmanuel Richard died yesterday after a long illness. He had
been the
curate at Palmer Road Parish when I was young. Let us pray that the
Lord may
welcome them home.

At prayer this morning, Jesus gave me this message, "Melvin, I am Jesus
who
loves you and all my brothers and sisters. I am the light that chases
away
the darkness, the darkness in your minds and hearts. I am the Good News
for
the whole world. You who believe in me and call yourselves Christians,
be
mindful of the commandment I gave you which reads, 'All power in heaven
and
earth has been given to me. Go, there- fore, and make disciples of all
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and of
the
Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.
And
behold, I am with you always until the end of the age.' I also said,
'Be my
witnesses.' Do not be afraid to be witnesses of my love for you. Tell
them
of your faith in me and of my privileged place in your life. Remember I
am
your friend who never deserts you. I am alive never to die again, and I
am
living in you today. So many people do not know me after 2,000 years
and
some live very near you. Be an example to them and be ready to answer
their
questions. May you be a channel of my love to them all. Be my hands to
help
those who suffer. Be my mouth to teach them about me. Let me work
through
you to touch them. I love you all."

Today is Mission Sunday and Jesus calls us to be missionaries. We do
not
have to go far today to be a missionary. There are people living all
around
us who do not believe in Jesus and do not pray. All those who put on
cursillo weekends are doing missionary work. This morning the Pope
beatified
in Rome a married couple: Luigi and Maria. This is the first time in
the
history of the church that a couple was beatified together. Their two
sons
who are priests celebrated the Holy Eucharist with the Pope during this
beatification Mass. They have a daughter too who took part in the
celebration. What a beautiful example for the world! What a blessing
this is
to all the couples of the world! Let us thank the Lord for this holy
couple.
This morning Jesus is calling us to be His mouth, His hands, and His
heart,
to bring Him to our brothers and sisters. Let us ask Him to fill us
with His
Spirit so that we can minister to others in His Name. May the Lord
bless you
and give you peace.
