Theme:  "INVITE ME INTO YOUR HEART."  

Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,
Greetings on this extremely cold morning of January! The wind went down
overnight and now the sun is shining bright. It should get warmer during
the day. I celebrated the Holy Eucharist at the Phillip's residence in
Alberton yesterday morning with the residents there. Then my visitors
and I went to Tignish to price materials for the prayer room. We will
need doors, windows and many others things to build this place. I will
have to buy according to the money I have.

I was with Jesus in prayer this morning. He spoke to me saying, "Melvin,
you are mine, I love you. All who come to me in humility will find peace
and joy. It is because a person is far from me that he or she is
anxious, afraid and lives in darkness and emptiness. If you have
isolated yourself from me, you will feel trapped with no way of escape.
This is because you will be in the camp of the evil one where you do not
belong. Remember, you were made for me and you will only find rest when
you rest in me. Fear is normal for all those who rely on themselves. You
fear the dark, the future and even your neighbours. Above all you fear
to be alone and you fear especially silence. Life is a struggle for you
are cut off from me who is the source of peace. When you find yourself
in any of these situations, know that I am the only one who can help
you. Come to me and acknowledge that you cannot do anything on your own
and ask for my help. I will ask you to reform your life, to repent of
your sins and to invite me into your heart. The more you rely on me, the
greater the peace you will have. I will change your night into day and
you will never be alone again. I will always be with you. I love you."

Jesus clearly tells us that we were made for Him. This is understandable
as it is God who created us. We all know what a mess we can make of our
lives if in our pride we rely only on ourselves. Jesus tells us that we
will be filled with anxiety, fear, darkness and emptiness. We will feel
lost and we will be forever searching. Everything will leave a bad taste
in our mouths. We will run away from silence and when we are alone we
will need music or television to distract us. We will look at life as a
hard struggle instead of time given to us to grow closer to the Lord.
One cannot get out of these situations alone. We need the Lord to help
us. I counsel many people who are depressed, afraid, feel empty and do
not want to live anymore. I know that only Jesus can truly help them.
Once they find Him their lives change. He calls them to reform their
lives, to rely on Him and to open their hearts to Him. What a change
this brings about in the person. Their joy and their smile shows to all
that a new day has dawned. Jesus now lives in their heart. They love to
spend an hour with the Lord every day either in their homes or in the
Church. Real life has now begun and peace reigns.

Let us ask the Lord to come into our hearts every day.
