FOLLOW THE WILL OF THE FATHER
Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,
Greetings to you and all on this wonderful morning! The sun is shining bright and it will be warm today. There is a little wind which should not keep the fishermen from fishing although they will be tossed about today. I was at the funeral in Tignish yesterday, for a well know Doucette man, and I went to the prayer meeting last evening at Palmer Road. About forty people were present to praise and thank the Lord for all He does for us. Many shared about the importance of prayer in their lives.
In my half hour of contemplative prayer this morning, Jesus spoke to me saying: "Melvin, I love you. I bless you and all my friends with peace. I wish to speak again this morning about marriage, the way of life for the vast majority of Christians. It is the Father, who established marriage as the norm for people. I want to make known to you the mind of the Father on this subject. Marriage is a solemn agreement called a covenant between a man and a woman and God. The Covenant of the Old Testament was made at Sinai between God and the Jewish people. They were to follow the Law of God (the ten commandments), and the Father would be their God and He would protect them. A couple who wants to marry have to pledge their love for each other for life, and God has to receive these vows. This is a solemn covenant between God and the couple and this must not be entered in lightly. The couple is to be true to this solemn agreement until death. It is only those Christians who have made this solemn agreement in Church, that can legitimately engage in sexual intercourse. Without marriage, sexual intercourse is forbidden and sinful. It is a beautiful gift willed by God but it has strict limits. Unfortunately it is widely misused today. So many people are living in sin and opposed to the will of the Father. Because of its misuse there is much suffering and sickness. I call you all to return and to follow the Father's will as regards sexual activity. I bless you all."
Jesus continues to elaborate the Will of the Father with regards to marriage and the use of the wonderful gift given to men and women. It is only legitimate in marriage. This is understandable for the sake of the children. Children need a home and the love of both of their parents. God established a permanent bond between a man and a woman in view of growing together in holiness and to give their children a normal upbringing. Jesus knows that the sexual instinct is strong and if one gives in to it, it will be like wild fire. It will destroy your life and leave you empty. This is why God has given us laws to follow if we are to keep this instinct under control. Today unfortunately, sexual intercourse is thought normal for many young men and women who go on a date. The parents of the girl give their daughters contracep- tives, so that if she engages in sex she will not get pregnant. So contraceptives lead to promiscuity. The result of all this sexual activity is sicknesses of every kind, including HIV and AIDS, and all kinds of other sexually transmitted diseases. Today in the world nearly 40 million people are HIV positive and millions die from AIDS every year. Instead of decreasing, the epidemic is getting worst. Condoms are not the answer for the virus can penetrate through this thin rubber. What is needed is abstinence or faithfulness in marriage and when will the people learn this? If we would follow the Will of the Father so much of this suffering and death would be avoided. Let us return to the Lord and be obedient to His will. Let us love Jesus with all our hearts.
Father Melvin
