WALK  IN  MY  FOOTSTEPS

Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,
Good morning! The sun was shining bright early this morning but now the
clouds have rolled in and the sun is gone. I guess we will have rain
later today. We had a very warm day yesterday, which was the last
official day of summer.

I will go to the Manor today for the celebration of the Holy Eucharist
with the Catholics there. My mother will surely be present as she is
doing very well now.

Continue to pray for Wayne. He is getting weaker. Yesterday he fell as
his legs just gave out. His faith is strong though and he prays many
rosaries every day.

I spent my half hour with Jesus this morning. He spoke to me saying,
"Melvin, my joy, I love you. Come and enter my heart and remain there. I
wish to bring you and all my friends into my heart. I would like to
confront each and every one of you today. My questions are these: Do you
believe in me with all your heart? Do you accept me as your Saviour, who
suffered and died for you and rose again? Is it important for you to
live with me every day? Have I become your best friend? I want you to
examine your attitude towards me. Find out what kind of relationship you
have with me. I am seeking a personal and lively faith on which you can
base your life. If your faith is strong then you will rely on me and you
will find peace for your soul. Those who do not have a strong faith will
live in turmoil and confusion. They will find little meaning in life.
They will live empty lives. A strong faith will bring you to prayer and
a desire to be with me. You will learn to speak to me and listen to my
words in contemplative prayer. Your mind will be conformed to mine and
you will do the things I do. You will bring my love to all through
service to others especially those in need. Walk in my footsteps. I
bless you."

Jesus puts a number of questions to us today. These are to help us to
gage our relationship with Him. It is very important that our faith be
strong. Jesus tells us in the Bible that if we have faith the size of a
mustard seed, we will move mountains. Not too many of us have such
strong faith. It is necessary to ask the Lord to strengthen our faith so
that we can live only for Him. In this world of ours, we need to be
strong to oppose the temptations that come our way. Jesus has to become
our greatest friend and we must take time to be with Him. We must come
to Him in contemplative prayer to listen to Him. He will open the ears
of our heart to hear His voice. Jesus showed us the way, so let us
follow in His footsteps.

I will be in Mabou, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, from November 1-3.
I will give a retreat on contemplative prayer with a talk on Our Lady.
There will also be a healing Mass on Saturday for those present.

Let us thank the Lord for His goodness to us.

Father Melvin
