I AM WAITING FOR YOU
Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,
Good morning on this beautiful sunny Monday! The leaves are growing fast on the trees, the dandelions are everywhere, and the weather is getting warmer all the time. It feels as if summer is here already.
I was with the Lord in prayer early this morning, and He spoke to me saying: "Melvin, come near to me, I embrace you for I love you. These days so few people pray. Many go for days without saying a prayer, without lifting their hearts and minds to me. They are pre-occupied with the things of the world such as money and pleasure, but neglect the things of the spirit. They care little for their Creator or their Redeemer. Yet, prayer is of the utmost importance for Christians. You cannot be a Christian if you do not pray. Melvin, I've taught you this excellent prayer, contemplative prayer, which I favor so much. Most people can pray in this way if they apply themselves. I give the grace of contemplative prayer to all who ask with faith. Do you believe me? I am calling you, my dear friends, to begin by spending time with me. I will lead you up the mountain for I want a close relationship with you. I will soften your heart and empty it of pride, resentment, and hurts. You must desire this relationship with me and submit yourself completely with me. My grace is there for you if you wish to cooperate with it. Come and live in my heart and remember I love you. I am ready to warm your cold heart. I am waiting for you today. I bless you with my peace."
Today Jesus gently teaches us about prayer. His great desire is that we come close to Him. If you feel far from Him and your heart is cold, come near to Him in prayer, especially contemplative prayer. He will talk to your heart and teach you about the things of God. He will bring you up the mountain to show many things you have never dreamt off. However, we have to commit ourselves to Him and agree to be led by Him. Jesus says that too many are following an empty and darkened way which only leads to despair. NO, let us come into the light, and He will give us His peace. I will go to the Manor again today, to visit with my mother and to celebrate the Holy Eucharist with the many residents there. Many of them pray the rosary every day, some many times a day. Let us pray for the sick that the Lord may touch them and refresh them and take their pain away. May our hearts be filled with thanksgiving today for the many graces the Lord gives us every day.
