I  AM  THE  TRUTH

Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,
Greetings on this beautiful sunny day! We had a very nice day yesterday
with plenty of sun. I went to the Manor last evening to be with my
mother. She bled a lot yesterday afternoon and her hemoglobin was down.
She might need a blood transfusion today. The problem is her bladder
according to the report we received from the tests she had in
Summerside. Please continue to pray for her.

I prayed early this morning. Jesus spoke to me saying, "Melvin, my
friend and my brother, I love you. Today is the feast of St. Augustine,
the great saint from North Africa. As a young man he lived in darkness
far from me. He followed the ways of the world and his mind was poisoned
by false doctrine. He lived an immoral life. The prayers of his mother,
St. Monica, won for him the grace of conversion and he returned to me.
He found rest for his soul in me and he turned over his life completely
to me. He was an exemplary priest and bishop teaching the people sound
doctrine. My brothers and sisters, pray for the Church that her
ministers will follow the example of St. Augustine. They are to teach
the doctrine of the Church and not their own ideas and opinions. I want
them to teach the whole doctrine as I handed it to the Church. Let them
look to the Pope who is exemplary in his teaching. In this way the faith
of all will be strengthened and enlightened. I call you all, my friends,
to learn more and more about the content of the faith as it is found in
approved books especially the bible. There are too many people who know
little about my teachings. Do not live in darkness but in the light of
the truth. Remember I am the truth. I will never lead you astray. I
bless you with the gift to know me intimately. I love you all. Melvin, I
also bless your mother."

St. Augustine was brilliant and he wrote books that are still read
today. He is known as a Father of the Church because of his teachings on
the faith. Jesus wants us to learn about our faith. We do this by
reading the Bible and attending courses on the Bible. There are also
books we can read about our faith especially the wonderful book "The
Catechism of the Catholic Church." This book approved by the Pope and
all the Bishops is a mine of information about every aspect of the
doctrine handed down to us by Our Lord and the Church. We need to know
the truth given to us by Jesus Himself. Let us pray that the priests and
bishops will teach true doctrine.

Jesus tells us today that He is truth. In John 14, 6, Jesus says, "I am
the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except
through me." We must come to Him to learn the truth.

I will celebrate the Holy Eucharist at Tignish Parish at 10:30 AM this
morning. My mother might have to go to Charlottetown hospital for more
tests today. I will speak to her doctor this morning to find out what
should be done to stop this bleeding.

May the Lord bless you all and give you a thirst to know Him better.
