I  WILL  RESTORE  YOU

Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,
Good morning on this sunny Thursday, the feast of the martyrdom of St.
John the Baptist! The weather continues to be great as we approach the
month of September.

There is more bad news about my mother. Now the doctors say she has
cancer of the bladder. She still continues to bleed but not
continuously. It is impossible to operate because of her heart
condition. So, there is very little that can be done to stop the
bleeding. She is still walking around without any pain. She may need a
blood transfusion soon. Thank you all for praying for her.

Jesus spoke to me this morning in my prayer. He began by saying,
"Melvin, my brother, I love you. I am showing you a broken cup. As you
can see, it is no good for anything. It is only fit for the rubbish
heap. However, if it was repaired by an expert, it could be used again
as if it was new. This cup can be you, Melvin, or any person who has
sinned and turned away from me. You are damaged and unable to accomplish
what you are supposed to do. You have brought this situation upon
yourself when you refuse to follow the commandments of God. There is,
though, a master craftsman who can repair the damage. Melvin, I am that
expert who can repair and renew any person whom sin has damaged. Come to
me, my brothers and sisters, and repent of your sins and I will restore
you to your greatness as a child of the Father. As the craftsman can
repair the broken cup so that it can be useful again, I too can repair
your brokenness and fill you with joy and peace. I can repair the
relationships which your acts have severed. The sense of loss can be
restored with the sense of belonging to the household of the Father. My
friends, come to me with repentance in your heart and I will restore you
to your exalted place as the beloved of the Father and my dear brother
or sister. I love you."

The Lord gave me this image of a broken cup this morning and at the
beginning I did not know the significance of this vision. Jesus
explained how we become useless like this broken cup when we sin and
turn away from Him. However, this is not the end of the story. Jesus
like a craftsman can restore us to our former state if we repent of our
sins. He calls us all today to repent in order that He can  restore us
to our great dignity as children of God.

Tomorrow, I will go to see a doctor in Charlottetown for a check-up. My
appointment is at 11:30 AM. I don't know if I will be able to send the
message before going. If not, I will send it in the evening after my
return.

May the Lord take our brokenness and restore it to wholeness through His
love.
