This is the first email that Joe Martin sent to marytalk-marion discussion list 1st message) Joe & Kristie Martin <joemartin@swbell.net> I just got a message on my voice mail from Bill Mundorf that he left 45 minutes ago telling me that Pat died last night, he said that she went home and asked me to put this on the net. I will try to call him and get more information and let you know. Joe Sorry, that is all that he said... 2) Joe & Kristie Martin <joemartin@swbell.net I just spoke to Bill Mundorf and he said that he thinks that their last trip was just too much for Pat. She has been pretty sick lately. He told me that the undertaker was still there and they were filling out paperwork. I asked Bill about services and he said that there would be none, no funeral or anything. He said that they are going to cremate Pat because it is the cheapest way to go, they don't have to money to do anything else. He told me that there was no use having a funeral because no one would come and you have to pay for everything. He asked that you light a candle for her and have a Mass said for her. If you want to call Bill yourself, their number is 620-278-3469. -Joe Martin Joyce's conversation with Bill Mundorf Bill said that Pat had been getting worse the past several days and had been to the clinic doctors. She kept falling out of bed and he would have to call ambulance people to help get her back in bed because of her weight and his health. He said that Pat had kept him running yesterday asking or needing medicines and blankets etc and so he went upstairs to bed last night about 8:30. When he got up and came downstairs and looked in on her he noticed that she had the oxygen on and said he didn't see her moving but I guess he kinda dismissed it or didn't want to know at that time. He made coffee and poured her a large cup and she usually either came to the kitchen or called him to bring her a cup. When after about 20 minutes she had not called he went to check on her and couldn't arouse her and so called 911. Police, ambulance etc all came and were there for a long time Because there is not money for a funeral he had to call around to find the cheapest cremation available but I believe he said that was going to cost either 12 or 1400 dollars If he took her to a funeral home and had viewing that is a extra 300 a day . He got the cheapest casket they had for the cremation and had to write a check right then to cover the costs and they will let him know tomorrow. He assumes they want to make sure the check is good He hopes to have a service at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Lyons, Kansas on Tuesday but is not sure of time and it is not finalized yet. He will try to call me tomorrow when he knows for sure. As he told Joe Martin in the above emails, he thinks the trip was too much for her. She has been supposed to keep her legs elevated and to be on oxygen a lot both of which she was unable to do much of while they were driving and traveling. Bill asks for your prayers for Pat and I am asking them for Him also. It is going to be very difficult for him also financially .They were both on disability. He did not expect his children or Pat's to come. If you would like to send a card to Bill or a personal letter the address I have for them is: Pat & Bill Mundorf 404 N.
