위치: 대장경의 원혈로써 수배의 제1 과 제2 중수골(제1 2중수골) 사이로 대략 제2 중수골의
요측중앙에 해당된다.
혹은 한쪽 손 무지의 지관절횡문을 다른 쪽 손의
무지와 식지 사이의 지복(물갈퀴) 연상에 바르게 대어 무지 끝이 닿는 곳이
혈이다.
필수 침구 전서에 제1 중수골과 제2 중수골간으로, 취혈은 모지와 식지를
최대로 벌린 상태에서 제1 중수골측에서 취혈한다하며,
내경의 합곡혈은 제1 제2 중수골 접합부의 요골동맥의 박동부에서 취혈한다고 되어있다.

주치 : 두통 경항통 목적종통 비뉵 치통 면종 인후종통 구안와사 비색
비연 이롱 차시(유행성이하선염) 아관긴폐 복통 변비 소아경풍 상지동통
위비 열병무한 다한 폐경 산체 이질.
필수 침구 전서에 고혈압, 뇌충혈, 암면신경마비, 3차신경통, 편도염, 면정 등증에 효가 있으며,
사와다류 합곡혈은 백내장, 녹내장, 시신경 위축, 망막염, 안저출혈,
각막실질염, 시력감퇴 등에 효가 있다고 한다.
자구법 : 0.5 ~ 1.0촌 직자한다. 뜸을 떠도 좋다. 잉부는 침구를 금한다.
주먹을 가볍게 하고 소지구측이 바닥을 향하게하고 합곡 혈이 하늘을 향한 상태에서 합곡혈에 자침하면 노궁혈까지 자입할 수 있다.
신경분포 : 수배의 정맥망이 있다. 요골신경의 천지가 분포되어 있다.
