FLORIDA JACK'S FITNESS & MUSCLE TONING CLASS |

Working
out at Florida Jack's requires plain, old-fashioned stamina. A typical two hour
class begins with twenty or so minutes of jumping rope...not the type of you did as
a kid but the type where you are running knees high, kicking your feet back, shuffling
your feet and finally twisting your lower body. If you think skipping rope is for
sissies...you better think again! |
| This is generally
followed by a few trips up and down four narrow flights of stairs usually carrying
medicine balls weighing anywhere from 6 to 30 pounds! |

In nice weather these floor exercises are often followed by a leisurely run through the
streets of Toronto to a beautiful park in the near vicinity. Here you will spend up to ten
minutes quickly stepping up and down a single stair until you feel like your calves are on
fire. This is followed by either sprinting and/or a 3K run around the park... |

Next it's floor work...what does that mean? It means you get to pull
out a mat and begin exercising muscles you didn't even know you had! A multitude of
exercises keep this part of the class very interesting....from push-up's, medicine ball
sit-up's, jumping jacks, fire hydrants (where you pretend to be a dog marking your
territory on a fire hydrant), leg raises ... well the list goes on and on. Each of these
exercises pushes you beyond any limits you thought you had!
Next it's back to the Gym for a warm down and
time to put on the wraps! |
