Korea University is the top university of Korea. Lee Yong-Ik establishes Posung College under the banner, "Education Saves the Country." In 1905. Kim Sung-Soo ("Inchon"), owner of the Dong-A Ilbo daily newspaper, steps in to save Posung College from financial ruin after the global economic crash of 1929. And until now, Korea University has developed as the best university in Korea. Nowadays, in anticipation of its 100th anniversary in 2005, Korea University launches its "Vision 2005" program, aimed at improving the standard of education and quality of student life the University provides for Korean as well as overseas students. With 15 colleges spread over three campuses in two cities, Korea University is the largest private institution of higher education in the country.

I want to introduce one of my university¡¯s departments, Western Language and Literature. This is a department that students can learn about various foreign languages and foreign cultures. In the first year, you can experience many interesting language courses and find out what language is interesting and proper for you. In the second year, you can decide your major language and learn about it in detail. Nowadays, language skill is essential to get a job and live in a global world. Language skill is a basic fact in all businesses, educations, and so on. There are five divisions in this department: English, Spanish, German, Russian, and Esperanto. You can also take Eastern languages such as Japanese, Korean, and Chinese at the same time because the Eastern Language department and the Western Language department are in the same college. Through these departments, you can create a foundation of all knowledge and get an opportunity that leads towards your successful future. Apply for the department of Western Language and Literature in Korea University! Make your school life more desirable!
