Overview:

Zweistein is well known in cult circles for recording an incredibly hard to find and extremely valuable triple-LP album called "Trip, Flipout, Meditation". The album was recorded and released on Phillips in 1970. According to legend, a Phillips producer was so madly in love with one of the ladies from Zweistein that he allowed her and the others to secretly record the album in the middle of the night when the studio was not in use. Needless to say, Phillips quickly pulled and deleted the album when they found out the monstrosity contained within: primitive electronics, and soundeffects galore. Almost as rare as the album, the 7" single I'm A Melody Maker' b/w 'A Very Simple Song', is rumored to be material that was not included on the album. 'I'm A Melody Maker' is a maddening popfolk track containing hypnotic percussion, vocal chants, flute, and odd electronic chirps throughout. However, the true gem is the B-side track 'A Very Simple Song' which appeared in part on the legendary triple-LP. This track, pure acid-drenched folk, contains the same musical elements as the A-side, but comes off sounding more like a cosmic freakout rather than a folk song. These tracks were produced, composed and co-written by Christian Bruhn. Now if I could only track down the 3-LP release...
