THE COMING NIGHT

The days fly by as I watch the sky, For signs of the coming times.

Watch the sky and pray escape, The coming night; Soon after daybreak!

He sneaks in like a thief in the night. Snatching the righteous, the rest left to plight.

Where did they go? How far away? Will he come back for me someday?

Never to see my family again, I cry for their help, Please God let me in!

He looked down at me with his face, sad and grim; "I warned you, my child, Oh why did you sin?!"

As he turned to leave, His words loud and few; "Depart from me, I do not know you!"

My family tried to warn me, But I did not learn. I chose the wrong path And did not return!

I was thrown to the bottomless pit of despair. Eternity, he said, I would spend there!

There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, From this ye shall get no relief.

As I look to the Heavens, And see them rejoice. My screams are not heard, If only I had another choice.

When I awoke from my nightmare, I was crying real tears! I hit the floor on my knees, Hadn't been there for years.

His warning was so real! Dear Lord, forgive me, I pleaded. He said, "Do you like Hell? For that is where you are headed!"

"Your family has warned you, And now I have too. Will you accept the sacrifice, Of my Son dying for you?"

Yes, Lord, I understand. Forgive my sins and take me Into your loving hands!

I felt such a peace, I cannot explain. The burdens were lifted. A new life, I had gained.

For I have been given a gift, That can never be taken away! I Praise you, Dear Lord For showing me the way!

For I have been saved and covered in blood. And now, when I die, I'll spend eternity with my Savior above!
