2000 Season
Did a great job for the Tar Heels as a junior... played a major role during the season because starter Jenni Branam missed most of the season playing with the U.S. Olympic Team in Australia... altogether played in 15 games for the Tar Heels and started on 10 occasions... played 926 minutes in goal and had an outstanding goals against average of 0.49... recorded 6.5 shutouts... had solo shutouts against Oregon on September 10, against Penn State on September 15, against SMU on September 17, against William & Mary on September 22, against TCU on September 24 and against NC State on October 11... had an outstanding saves to goals allowed ratio last season of 27 to five... had a career high six saves in UNC's shutout win over Penn State on September 15 by a 1-0 score... made five saves in a loss at Clemson on September 12... in the 3-0 win at NC State on October 11, she had four saves while recording a solo shutout... named to the Dean's List at UNC in the fall semester of 2000 and spring semester of 2001... named to the 2000-01 Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Honor Roll.

1999 Season
Played in 13 games for the Tar Heels as a sophomore... started for the Tar Heels against Colorado, Penn State (regular season game), Florida State (regular season game) and Duke... played 585 minutes and had 14 saves, while allowing six goals... had a goals against average of 0.92... had season high five saves against Penn State... recorded 3.8 shutouts on the season... named to UNC's Dean's List in fall semester of 1999 and in the spring semester of 2000... tapped for 2000 Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Honor Roll.

1998 Season
Played in nine games as a freshman... made five saves in 358 minutes of play, while not allowing a goal... was credited with four shutouts on the season... was named to the 1998-99 ACC Academic Honor Roll after her freshman year by earning a 3.738 grade point average.

Prep
Played varsity soccer there for three years... also played two years of varsity basketball... was the 1997 NSCAA/Umbro All-America goalkeeper her junior year and the PSCA All-State goalkeeper... also the first-team All-Erie County goalie... in 1996 she was the NSCAA/Umbro All-East goalie, the PSCA All-State goalie and the All-Erie County goalkeeper... in 1995, she was named second-team All-Erie County at forward after scoring 17 goals and passing for 11 assists... played forward as a freshman and then goalkeeper as a sophomore and junior... her high school team was the Erie County league champs in 1995 and 1996 and co-champs in 1997... she was the team rookie of the year in 1995 and MVP in 1996... also play guard for two years on the varsity basketball team and ran track for three years, specializing in the 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meter relay, javelin, long jump and triple jump... holds the school record in the long jump at nearly 16 feet, 10 inches, the triple jump at 35 feet, 11 inches, the 200 meter dash at 26.39 seconds and as a member of the 400 meter relay team... in 1997, she was first team All-Erie County in the 200-meter dash and long jump and second team All-Erie County in the javelin... in 1998, she was first team All-Erie County in the triple jump and second team All-Erie County in the javelin and on the 400 meter relay... she was a state qualifer in 1998 in the triple jump... ranked #1 in a class of 235, skipping her senior year of high school... had a GPA of 4.0... was freshman class president, junior class representative in the Student Council, member of the National Honor Society and SADD club... was named to Who's Who Among American High School Students.

Given name is Kristin Ann DePlatchett... has one brother Jason and one sister Ali... her brother Jason graduated from UNC in May 2001 with a degree from the School of Public Health... was born December 27, 1980 in Erie, Pa.... is the daughter of Raymond "Bud" and Mary DePlatchett... hobbies include playing basketball, reading (especially Thomas Harris books), eating at the Armadillo Grill, cooking, watching SportsCenter and playing with her two Labrador retrievers named Avery and Tucker when she returns home to Pennsylvania... athlete she most admires is Steve Prefontaine... biggest sports thrill was winning the 2000 NCAA championship because the UNC team never quit battling and because so many people thought Carolina could not win it after suffering three losses during the season... on that trip she saved a penalty kick taken by the captain of the German Women's National Team... economics major... business administration minor... wants to be a financial advisor... would also like to pursue the dream of playing professional soccer... enjoys coaching kids at North Carolina's Girls Soccer Camp during the summers... served an internship with First Union Securities in the summer of 2001.
