Colors
Vitora dragons are sleek and aerodynamic creatures with four long, powerful legs and strong wings. They have two horns and long claws. Generally, Vitora dragons' heads, tails, and bodies are a dark color; their wings and stomachs a brighter hue of that color; and their horns and claws pearly white. All dragons start out dark violet or green in their eggs and fade gradually to the other colors in development. Once one unhatched dragon reaches the gold or silver stage, the others will usually not because the unhatched dragons can communicate telepathically with their siblings and parents. At any time in development, a parent can ask his or her child to stop changing color. If your page is wonderful enough for a gold, but you'd rather have a blue, tell Tori, and you will get a blue. Also, as the colors change, the dragons usually become more intelligent but less social and/or physically powerful.
Here are the colors in order from least to most common (excluding twins & others):
NOTE: All dragons are unique, and their personalities may vary!
Gold(female)-Gold dragons love beauty but many tire from artists. They are as likely to be impressed by a gardener, blacksmith, or practically anyone who shows some enthusiasm toward their life, work, hobbies, and the dragons. They are quite selective and possessive of their impressed and (if they have one) mate. Golds don't like the company of other animals or female dragons. There is usually one or zero per clutch.
Silver(male)-Silvers are in every way equivalent to golds. They love art and beauty and are very selective. They won't share their home with anything other than their impressed and/or mate. There's one or none per clutch.
Blue(female)-Blues are motherly and have a love of life. They bond tightly to their impressed and other dragons. Blue dragons enjoy the company of other Vitora dragons and perhaps a firelizard, feline, or canine. There are 1 to 5 per clutch.
Red(male)-Reds, like blues, have strong ties and will protect their mates and impressed at all costs. Reds will only be impressed into safe, comfortable weyrs/caverns/etc. 1 to 5 per clutch.
Violet(female)-These are the least selective and, therefore, most common. Violets are very talkative and love company, but too many other creatures make violets feel sad and unimportant. They get along with all creatures. There can be an unlimited ammount per clutch.
Green(male)-Greens are the equivalent of violets. They enjoy company and competition. Green dragons love adventure. There can be an unlimited ammount per clutch.
Twins & Others-Twins are rare and can be identical or "fraternal" (technically all twins are identical since they hatch from the same egg, but some develop to look different). They share a psychic bond stronger than any impression or mating bond and should not be separated. Twins are more likely to occur if the mother of the clutch or her mother or grandmother has had twins before.
There may be some variation to the colors, but usually these differences are very subtle, and the dragon is still considered to be its "base color."
