October 1964
"JEFF!!  Can you put Tommy's tie on for him?  I am trying to curl Susie's pigtails," Ginger yelled downstairs to Jeff.

Tommy came walking down the steps with his tie in hand.  "Come here, Slugger, let's get that tie on you before your mother has a fit."

Steve was sitting on the sofa, tossing a football in the air.  "Tommy is a baby, he can't tie a tie, Tommy's a baby.," sang Steve.

Tommy's face turned red & he ran over to Steve, knocking him back.  "You take that back you big stupidhead, I am not a baby, I am Daddy's big slugger."

"Yes, you are ,Tommy, now get over here so we can get this tie on & knock it off, Steven.  Someday you will be glad he is around."

Steve got up & started out the front door, he turned to Jeff with a grin & a chuckle, "Doubt that one, Dad!"

Ginger & Susie came down the stairs.  Ginger was wearing a yellow dress, with a white sweater over it.  Susie had a lavender dress with matching ribbons in her curly pigtails.

Jeff whistled, "Now, I know I will be walking into church with the best looking dames in town."

Ginger gave Jeff a kiss as a thank you.

Susie blushed, "Oh, Dad, no one says Dames anymore."

Tommy walked up to his mom giving her a big hug.  "You sure are pretty, Momma."

"Well that is the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me, Thomas Jeffrey Metcalf," Ginger said winking at Jeff.

"What about me, Slugger?," asked Susie. "How do I look?"  She twirled around for her brother.

"What do I care, you are nothing but a stinken girl."  Tommy ran out the door with Susan right behind him.

Ginger called out after them, "Kids, be careful & get into the car.  We are going to Ruperts right after church."  They could hear Steven say that he was having the Chicken Fried Steak.

"Shall we, Mrs. Metcalf?" Jeff extended his arm out to his lovely wife.

Ginger graciously accepted it, "I think we shall, Mr. Metcalf."
